Roots is seeking a motivated HR Generalist to join our growing team and help scale and support our People operations. In this role, you will play a key part in delivering a seamless employee experience while supporting core HR processes across the full employee lifecycle.

This is a fully remote role.
About the Role
We are looking for an HR Generalist to support and execute core People operations across the employee lifecycle. In this role, you will partner closely with the People team to ensure a seamless employee experience, maintain accurate HR processes and systems, and support key initiatives across onboarding, compliance, and employee engagement.
The ideal candidate brings strong operational rigor, excellent communication skills, and a thoughtful, employee-centric approach to HR.
Key Responsibilities
Support new hire onboarding and employee lifecycle processes, including onboarding, offboarding, and employee data management within HR systems (e.g., Rippling)
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and documentation
Assist with benefits administration and respond to employee inquiries
Coordinate visa and immigration processes in partnership with external legal counsel or PEO providers
Ensure compliance with U.S. employment laws and internal policies
Support employee relations matters with professionalism and discretion
Contribute to employee engagement and culture initiatives, including recognition programs and team activities
Provide administrative and project support across the People team
Help improve and scale HR processes, systems, and documentation
Requirements
2+ years of experience in an HR Generalist or HR Business Partner role
Experience with an HRIS (Rippling preferred; Workday or similar acceptable)
Familiarity with U.S. employment law and HR compliance practices
Exposure to visa/immigration processes (e.g., coordinating with legal counsel or PEOs)
Strong employee relations judgment and ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
