What you will be doing:

  • Pipeline Generation: Drive high-quality pipeline creation through strategic initiatives, account prioritization, and flawless execution.
  • Talent Development: Recruit, onboard, and develop top-tier sales talent, preparing them for future roles in Tines’ go-to-market organization.
  • Performance Management: Measure, report, and continuously improve Sales Development performance, ensuring alignment with revenue goals.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Work with Sales on territory alignments and account prospecting strategies.
    • Partner with Demand Generation and Field Marketing to execute effective campaigns and events.
    • Collaborate with Commercial Operations to refine systems, tools, and processes that support growth.
    • Partner with Sales Enablement to deliver “Flawless Fundamentals” training programs focused on sales skills and deepening knowledge of security/IT personas.
  • Leadership and Innovation: Stay ahead of trends and best practices in sales development, particularly in selling to security and IT teams.

What you bring with you:

  • Leadership Expertise: You’ve led and scaled Sales Development teams of 15+ people, preferably in high-growth software companies.
  • Results-Driven: You have a proven track record of driving pipeline that converts into revenue.
  • Talent Focused: You’re passionate about developing future sales leaders and have a strong history of coaching and mentoring.
  • Collaborative Partner: You excel at cross-functional collaboration and building strong relationships across Sales, Marketing, and Operations teams.
  • Customer-Centric: You lead with "soundness," ensuring prospects, customers, and internal stakeholders are treated with respect and care.
  • Analytical Mindset: You use data to guide decisions, optimize processes, and measure success.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the security and IT landscape is a plus, along with a desire to stay at the forefront of sales development best practices.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
