The Role:

  • We seek an innovative and enthusiastic leader to expand and drive our Advanced Physical Technology team in the CTO office, reporting to the CTO. This individual will lead their team to identify and explore leading-edge physical technologies that will grow ADI’s current and future businesses. Innovation areas include advanced semiconductor processes, circuit and power techniques, and future generation sensor technologies.

  • Analog Devices has a long and celebrated history of creating semiconductor technologies to enable its industry leading precision, RF, mixed-signal, and sensor product lines. It all starts with innovation in physical technologies and requires close collaboration with our Global Manufacturing division in addition to developing partnerships with industry, universities, and government.

  • The ideal candidate is a creative thinker with strong leadership and technical skills including extensive knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing process technology and will have experience in leading large teams of world class technologists - leaning into 'future state' capabilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Synthesize a long-term physical technology strategy (Device/Process/Package/Integration) through:

  • Comprehension of global and industry trends

  • Alignment with Business Units and Global Operations in defining ADI’s future technology requirements and proposing paths forward (roadmaps & direction).

  • Creation of the next generation of strategic physical technology platforms, comprehending the need for efficient re-use, scale, and supply chain/geopolitical de-risking.

  • Identify and organize development of strategic IP to enable rapid early adoption and customer solution delivery using these platforms across the enterprise.

  • Foster, support and enable key technology Initiatives that intersect multiple Business Units.

  • Lead and manage a growing operation, leaning into the future

  • Identify and investigate foundry & partnership options to define, adopt and transition these platforms from development to manufacturing.

  • Engaging and influencing at C-level

  • Being an out in front leader - elevating the capability

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience leading large teams in forward-looking technology or R&D environments

  • Management experience - aligning technical specialists /fellows / SMEs in the pursuit of new innovations

  • Graduate degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field

  • Excellent oral / written communication skills

  • Demonstrable passion for the semicon. sector

Location:

Location will be reviewed on a candidate-by-candidate basis, however the primary hiring location will be Wilmington, MA or our San Jose, CA office. Relocation will be supported.
