The Role:
The GSC Dynamic Scheduler is responsible for managing key data inputs and outputs for plant scheduling through the use of various systems. This role will provide support to develop alternatives and respond quickly to issues that arise in manufacturing, quality, and supply chain. This position requires the ability manage multiple priorities, communicate with many departments and manage detail accurately.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities):

  • Make regular adjustments to scheduling/sequencing rules and manage holds and restrictions appropriately.
  • Manage CPDS (Common Production Dynamic Scheduling) and CPBR (Common Production Bank Re-sequencer) system to schedule and track vehicle orders through the body, paint and general assembly processes; Utilize GEPICS and MGO systems to perform other elements of standardized work in scheduling and tracking orders.
  • Manage rule sets for permanent and temporary restrictions to optimize the flow of orders through the plant. Analyze info regarding impact of restrictions and assist in developing recovery plans to re-introduce order back-log from restrictions.
  • Schedule and monitor the flow of special builds and PTR/engineering changes through the build process and provide regular reports and status updates to requestors.
  • Manage various system alarms from CPDS/CPBR and interface with appropriate body, paint, and GA personnel to research and resolve issues (config code changes, mismatches, etc.).
  • Interface with production regarding scrap and stagnant bodies and provide tracking reports to proactively manage.
  • Manage GA broadcast counters to assist with temporary material supply issues, quality issues or other special requests.
  • Follow-up and communicate to get holds released where possible.
  • Provide daily reporting on ASRS hold status.
  • Monitor order flow throughout the day - with frequent health checks in PRT and PMC systems to insure through-put and bottlenecks are identified.
  • Publish daily model mix summaries.
  • Support expediting and tracking hot orders.
  • Assist with GEPICS tasks as needed (updating broadcast info, cross-checking breakpoint info, set ins).


Additional Description
Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • High level of computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel.


What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Knowledge of GEPICS.
  • Knowledge of MGO-A.
  • Knowledge of order management systems (POMS).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel & Microsoft Word.
  • Degree in Supply Chain/Manufacturing/or equivalent experience.
  • Highly developed knowledge of integration plant floor monitoring systems &/or simulation techniques.
  • Knowledge of Material Global Optimization (MGO) and material inventory systems.
  • Statistical Process Control (SPC) skills.
  • Experience/knowledge of GM-Global Manufacturing System (GMS).
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement processes.
  • High level oral and written communications skills.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage data accurately.
  • Supply Chain or Production Control experience.
  • Knowledge of basic technology of area assigned.
  • High level analytical ability in situations where the problems are somewhat complex.
