About the Role

Clipboard is looking to revolutionize the staffing industry. The MTO (Market Takeover) team is at the forefront of this mission, running high-energy, in-person events across the country to boost sales and build Clipboard into a household name.

We are seeking a creative and energetic Growth Strategy Associate to join the MTO team. In this role, you will be instrumental in building the Clipboard brand and driving our growth through compelling in-person events. You will get the opportunity to travel the United States, taking on diverse responsibilities that include driving event attendance, managing event execution, and cultivating professional relationships from initial contact to long-term partnership. This is a position perfect for someone who is passionate about marketing, events, making a real-world positive impact ,and connecting with customers and prospects in every way possible - on the phone, at their facilities, or at our events.

What you'll do

  • Travel up to 50% of the month to cities across the US to support and execute our in-person events.

  • Engage with event attendees to foster a sense of community and build strong relationships with prospective customers in person.

  • Collaborate with the sales team to ensure a seamless hand off to close deals.

  • Making calls to prospective customers to secure event attendance.

  • Write tailored emails to prospects and customers to follow-up on their experience

  • Track and analyze event outcomes and learnings, providing insights for continuous improvement.

  • Contribute to the overall growth marketing strategy for Project MTO.

What we're looking for

  • A creative and enthusiastic individual with a passion for marketing and events who gains energy from being around people.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills – we write a LOT here at Clipboard, and this role involves calling customers to secure RSVPs.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • A proactive and collaborative team player who is eager to learn and take on new challenges.

  • A passion for our mission to lift people up the socioeconomic ladder.

  • Familiarity with digital marketing tools and platforms is a plus.

  • Speed and bias for action. We move quickly, which means that flexibility and adaptability are key to succeeding here.

  • Willingness and ownership – if there is something that needs to get done, you do it instead of waiting for someone else to do it.

  • Prior experience in marketing, sales, event planning, or a related field is a plus, but not required.

You Might Be a Great Fit If You:

  • Have 2–5+ years of professional experience. A history in the software and healthcare industries is a plus, but not required.

  • Have experience in sales, or have been exposed to aspects of a sales cycle.

  • Are energized by the idea of live marketing — you love connecting with communities, creating memorable experiences, and telling a compelling story.

  • Are excited by the prospect of traveling 50% of the month to different cities across the US.

  • Thrive in a fast-paced, goal-driven environment and adapt quickly when the playbook changes.

  • Are naturally curious, a creative problem-solver, and see challenges as opportunities.

  • Communicate clearly, follow through on commitments, and take full ownership of your work.

You’ll Love This Role If You:

  • Want to grow your career in growth strategy, marketing, and sales, and are eager to see the direct impact of your work.

  • Are excited by autonomy — you’ll take ownership of the brand experience at our events and be trusted to make them successful.

What We Offer

  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.

  • All travel, lodging, and meal expenses are covered for event-related travel.

  • Remote-friendly structure (when you’re not traveling).

  • Smart teammates, real responsibility, and opportunities to grow fast into more senior roles in marketing, sales or strategy.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
