Silverback Strategies is a performance marketing agency built to help marketing leaders drive growth and capitalize on change.

As our newest Growth Strategist, your mission is simple: help clients hit their goals, and prove how marketing drives profitable revenue.

What You’ll Do

  • Use customer research and industry insights to build cross-functional marketing plans.
  • Build and deploy a testing roadmap across Media, SEO, Creative, and Measurement.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and give clients the edge they need to outpace competitors.
  • Turn Google Analytics and CRM data into actionable growth strategies.
  • Apply modern measurement frameworks to optimize spend and prove impact.
  • Serve as the trusted partner for client marketing leaders, backed by specialists in Paid Media, SEO, Creative, and Measurement.
  • Understand client business models, who their customers are and why they buy.
  • Deliver clear reports with context to help clients build credibility with their boss.
  • Break down silos and drive cross-department collaboration.
  • Share insights and learnings internally to help other Silverbackers get better.
  • Anticipate and address churn risks before they become issues.
  • Track KPIs, manage renewals, and expand scopes to maximize client success.
  • Identify opportunities for cross-sell and upsell to evolve alongside client growth.
  • Partner with leadership to eliminate waste and streamline workflows.
  • Continuously optimize delivery to maintain agency margins.
  • Champion initiatives that improve collaboration and keep Silverback ahead of the curve.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

  • Agency Experience: You’ve done the work in performance marketing and know what it takes to deliver results. Paid Media or SEO background is a plus, especially if you’ve moved from execution to account leadership.
  • We’re looking for candidates with at least 4 years of experience.
  • Client Communication: With proven client-facing experience, you build trust fast. Your writing, speaking, and presentation skills are top-notch.
  • Data Fluency: You don’t just report numbers—you turn them into stories and strategies that are actionable.
  • Project & Time Management: You run a clean calendar and keep priorities straight. Competing demands don’t throw you.
  • Results Mindset: Growth is the goal. You measure success by client business outcomes. You’re as comfortable speaking to business metrics such as LTV, CAC + profit margin as you are with marketing KPIs.
  • Adaptability & Growth: Feedback fuels you. You lean into change, sharpen your skills, and push yourself and your team to get better every day.
  • Poised Under Pressure: You remain composed when the stakes are high and see obstacles as opportunities. You’re energized by diagnosing and solving problems.

Why Silverback?

  • Silverback isn’t for everybody. If you’re an A player, you will get paid more, learn more and grow faster with support from a smart and fun team. If you’re a B player, you will be miserable.
  • Work with the A team: We are ruthless about putting the best possible team on the field.
  • Make an impact: We’re a small agency. Everybody has the opportunity  to drive change and impact.
  • Get paid: We hire the best and pay them generously.
  • Do cool shit: From media to SEO to measurement, learn the cutting edge of what works.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
