The Informatics Applications Engineer for Beckman Coulter Life Sciences provides advanced remote and onsite technical support and escalation management for Beckman Coulter Life Sciences informatics solutions. This role partners with customers, field teams, and internal stakeholders to resolve complex software, integration, networking, and infrastructure issues, while supporting implementations, upgrades, and system optimization. Success in this role requires strong technical problem-solving skills, a customer-focused mindset, and the ability to collaborate across multiple functions to deliver reliable informatics solutions.
This position reports to the Global Informatics Manager and is part of the Service Operations team and will be fully remote, residency in the eastern half of the US is required.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Provide technical leadership and serve as the escalation point for complex laboratory informatics, software, integration, networking, and cybersecurity issues across North America.
Investigate and resolve advanced technical issues through analysis of application logs, database records, network communications, and system performance data to identify root causes and drive resolution.
Partner with customer IT, LIS, networking, and security teams to support Beckman Coulter informatics solutions deployed in physical, virtual, and cloud-hosted environments.
Lead and support software implementations, upgrades, migrations, analyzer integrations, and customer onboarding activities while ensuring adherence to standard work and quality requirements.
Coach and mentor field service engineers and field applications specialists in informatics troubleshooting, technical problem solving, and issue resolution best practices.
The essential requirements of the job include:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Healthcare Informatics, Biomedical Engineering, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field, or equivalent experience
Minimum 3 years of experience supporting laboratory middleware, laboratory informatics applications, laboratory automation systems, or Life Sciences instrumentation (DxFLEX, Vi-CELL, CytoFLEX) with demonstrated IT, networking, server, or software troubleshooting experience
Demonstrated experience troubleshooting Windows-based systems, networking infrastructure, virtualization platforms, databases, or cybersecurity-related issues.
Ability to work directly with customer IT, LIS, networking, and security personnel to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to independently investigate and resolve complex software, integration, network, and infrastructure issues
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
Ability to travel up to 30% travel, overnight, within North America
Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
Ability to lift, move or carry equipment up to 50lb, any other physical requirements
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Experience supporting Sitecore, JSON Script, VBscripts or API’s
Working with Microsoft SQL Server, virtualization technologies, cloud-hosted applications, cybersecurity requirements, and enterprise networking environments
Life Science informatics, automation, flow cytometry, or cell analysis solutions

The annual salary range for this role is $120,000 - $135,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
