Position Summary

Boston Medical Center Health System is seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible General Surgeon to join our growing surgical team at BMC Brighton. This is an excellent opportunity to practice in a community-focused setting while being part of a large, integrated academic health system.

The ideal candidate will provide high-quality, patient-centered surgical care across a broad range of general surgery procedures, with opportunities to develop subspecialty interests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide range of general surgical procedures, including elective and urgent cases
  • Provide inpatient and outpatient clinical care
  • Participate in shared call coverage including ACS
  • Contribute to the educational needs of the surgical residency 
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the health system
  • Support quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
  • Contribute to program growth and service line development

Qualifications

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery
  • Eligible for medical licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
  • Strong clinical, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to providing compassionate, equitable care

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive base salary with productivity incentives

Compensation range: $333,846 - $420,533

The base salary of the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to clinical FTE, qualifications, experience, education, board certifications, specialty, training, and scope of practice. The above hiring range represents a good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Any eligible incentive compensation is not included in the above compensation range and will be discussed during the interview process.
