Achievable, a fully remote edtech startup based in San Francisco, needs help with social media marketing! If you're looking to learn marketing skills quickly in a fast-paced startup environment, work flexible hours, build out your resume, and be responsible for far more than your typical internship, this role could be a great fit.

About the role

In this role, you will be a part of the marketing team working on important, public-facing social media posts. You'll report directly to our social media marketing lead, Cassandra.

We need thoughtful, engaging image or video content for our social media channels, including Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, and TikTok

This is an opportunity to build real marketing content for a real, venture-backed company with tens of thousands of paying customers annually. Your work will be seen by thousands of potential customers and be publicly available online for you to reference later.

We are open to part-time and full-time internships, and are happy to work with college students or people with other jobs, so long as you stay on top of your work.

About us

Achievable is a small EdTech startup. Our focus today is on test preparation for high-stakes exams, like the GRE for graduate school admissions, the FINRA Series licenses for careers in wealth management, and the USMLE exam for medical doctors. Our long-term mission is to help people unlock opportunity in their lives more broadly, guiding them through their lifelong journey of education, employment, and career advancement.

We're a small team and an entirely remote company. We're comfortable working with people internationally. As long as we communicate effectively, maintain a high quality level, and meet our deadlines, you can complete the work from anywhere and at any time you prefer. We'll work closely together, collaborating through Slack, code reviews, and Google Meet meetings, depending on timezone and availability.

How to apply

Please email [email protected] with your resume, a brief cover letter, and examples of your writing, social media, or research work. If you do not have direct marketing experience, academic work is also acceptable.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
