Who we are looking for

We are looking for an analyst, preferably with knowledge of foreign exchange and capital markets, who can support the front office risk management function across all counterparty types.  The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.  Demonstrated ability to coordinate with various internal and external resources to support the FX business, while maintaining tight control over credit risks, is of central importance.  A significant degree of autonomy, including making careful decisions that implement State Street’s risk appetite and adhere to credit policies under time pressure, is a requirement.

When owners and managers of institutional assets need research, trading, securities lending and innovative portfolio strategies, they turn to SSGM business unit. As our investment research and trading arm, SSGM’s number one goal is to enhance and preserve our clients’ portfolio values by applying technology, optimizing trading, and linking asset classes and markets across the world.

What you will be responsible for

As Front Office Credit Risk Analyst, Senior Associate you will

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate FX trading through prompt investigation and resolution, on a case-by-case basis, of eFX trade fails and exception requests. 

  • Manage counterparty credit limits across various FX ECN platforms. 

  • Proactively review and analyze credit limit utilization reports and investigate any over-limit conditions or excesses.

  • Assist in ATE monitoring process by sourcing key credit terms from trading documents as well as collecting up-to-date financial information on counterparties.

  • Monitor market events, financial condition of counterparties, and promptly raise any potential credit issues to the appropriate parties.

  • Provide input to ERM in their reviews regarding credit terms in the trading docs.

  • Develop or enhance desk procedures by identifying weaknesses and striving for risk excellence.

  • Perform other tasks as assigned to support the Credit Risk team.

Education/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics or related field.

  • 1-3 years of experience in capital markets.

  • Working knowledge of FX trading products is preferred but not required.

  • Experience performing detail-oriented tasks under time constraints.

  • Effective oral and written communication to varied audiences is required.

  • Familiarity with Bloomberg, Wall Street Systems, Credit Risk Management platforms, and ECNs is a strong plus.

Additional requirements

  • This is a hybrid role with an expectation of 4 days a week in the office

Salary Range:

$65,000 - $65,000 Annual
