About the company
Our client is a fast-growing financial technology company.
The role
Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Join a small engineering group as an early hire with significant autonomy, building backend services and tooling for an AI-driven software product while also supporting existing core platform systems. The work is hands-on and mostly backend, with some exposure to frontend development.
What you'll do
- Build and extend the set of tools an AI agent can use to complete multi-step business tasks.
- Improve the quality, breadth and depth of the agent's capabilities so it delivers dependable end-to-end results.
- Combine existing tools and create new ones, such as email drafting, document completion and third-party account integrations.
- Contribute to the shared infrastructure that supports the company's other business lines.
- Own delivery from the start, ramping up quickly and working in a fast-moving, AI-assisted development workflow.

- Solid Python backend fundamentals, including APIs, async programming, databases and cloud deployment.
- Daily use of agentic coding assistants, with well-formed views on how to make agent-based systems better.
- A self-motivated, tech-lead-style approach: quick to ramp up, able to work with minimal guidance and comfortable with ambiguous scope.

- Zero-to-one startup experience with demonstrable users.
- Background in high-frequency trading or quantitative engineering.
