The Role

We’re hiring a DevOps / Infrastructure Engineer to own and scale our deployment stack, CI/CD, monitoring, and secure runtime environment. You’ll be the first dedicated infras hire, working closely with engineering and leadership to build internal tooling, deploy production updates safely, and own the performance, security, and reliability of our core services.

You don’t need deep crypto experience, but you do need to be systems-minded, automation-driven, and comfortable owning production infrastructure.

Responsibilities
  • Build and own our deployment infra – from CI pipelines to container orchestration and cloud infra (GCP, Terraform, Cloud Run/K8s) – and API release orchestration

  • Streamline developer velocity by refining our CI/CD pipeline and automating dev-prod lifecycle

  • Set up robust observability stacks and on-call/incident alerting tooling

  • Defining our on-call rotation and escalation pipeline

  • Harden our infra — secret management, environment isolation, secure service deployment, ideally HSM/key custody integration down the line

  • Own infra migrations without downtime

  • Support blockchain infra — optional, but a bonus if you’ve run full nodes, managed RPC endpoints, or deployed services that rely on chain data

Requirements
  • Have 3+ years in a similar DevOps/Infra role, ideally at a small company where you owned systems end-to-end

  • Have 5+ years of total software engineering experience, ideally with a progression into DevOps/Infra roles

  • Are comfortable with GCP, Terraform, container orchestration (Cloud Run, K8s), and managing modern CI/CD pipelines

  • Write scripts or tooling in Python or Go, and have solid Linux and systems fundamentals

  • Have worked with or implemented some combination of:

    • Monitoring/observability stacks (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog)

    • Incident alerting/on-call tooling (e.g., PagerDuty, Opsgenie)

    • Secrets management (e.g., Vault, GCP Secret Manager)

    • Secure infra patterns (e.g., HSMs, key custody, env isolation)

  • Bonus: experience with blockchain infra, node ops, RPC performance, or low-latency infra for crypto services

  • Bonus: you’ve seen medium+ scale infra migrations, and know how to make them boring

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
