Ambrook’s mission is to help family-run American businesses become more profitable and resilient.

Operators across American agriculture and industry face increasing pressure from record-breaking droughts, rising input costs, and unpredictable markets. The best long-term investments, like efficient irrigation and grazing rotations, support both the land and the bottom line. But even when the payoff is clear, these changes need upfront capital and financial clarity that's hard to come by.

Business owners work with fragmented records and outdated tools. They can't easily see what's working or prove viability to a lender, partner, or the next generation.

Ambrook is rebuilding the financial infrastructure that independent operators rely on.

We replace paperwork and legacy systems with modern tools for accounting, banking, invoicing and spending. Tools built for people who spend more time in the field than in the office. Our platform gives producers the financial clarity they need to make confident investments in their land, their operation, and their future.

Our customers are the backbone of the real economy. They are stewards of land, labor, and legacy. We're giving them the ability to invest in stronger, more durable businesses. When they do, they build generational resilience across America.

We started with farmers and ranchers across the country. Now we're expanding quickly to other American industries.

We're a Series A startup backed by top investors like Thrive Capital, Dylan Field, Homebrew, Designer Fund, and BoxGroup. We're looking for early team members who want to untangle the knotted intersection between American industry, climate, and the economy.

The opportunity

Ambrook is building a world-class team. We're proud of the platform we've built so far and as our Founding Infrastructure Engineer, you'll help drive our technical decisions and influence our product direction for years to come, with the goal of making family-run businesses more profitable and resilient.

We're looking for someone who we can count on to…

Own: The reliability, scalability, and security of infrastructure that powers financial operations for thousands of America’s family-run businesses

Drive: Technical strategy for infrastructure decisions that directly impact our ability to serve businesses during critical periods like tax season.

Lead: Implementation of infrastructure as code, database migrations, and monitoring systems that enable our engineering team to deploy confidently.

Enable: Product engineers to build features rapidly while maintaining the operational excellence that farmers depend on for their financial data.

Within 1 month you'll...
  • Take ownership of Ambrook's infrastructure architecture and identify critical improvement opportunities for our scaling platform.

  • Drive implementation of infrastructure as code to replace manual configurations across our Google Cloud environment.

  • Lead analysis of our current monitoring and observability stack, proposing concrete improvements for our tax season readiness.

  • Partner with engineering teams to understand system dependencies and seasonal traffic patterns that impact our farmers' experience.

  • Establish yourself as the go-to expert for infrastructure decisions while building relationships across product and engineering teams.

Within 3 months you'll...
  • Own and execute our Firestore to PostgreSQL migration with zero downtime

  • Architect and implement separate deployment environments that enable confident releases during critical farming seasons.

  • Design monitoring solutions that proactively handle our 10x tax season traffic surges, preventing issues before they impact customers.

  • Lead security and IAM improvements across our platform, establishing security practices that scale with our team.

Within 6 months you'll...
  • Shape the long-term infrastructure strategy that supports our expansion from thousands to tens of thousands of customers without compromising reliability.

  • Shape architecture planning for AI agent infrastructure, positioning us to deploy intelligent financial insights at the edge.

  • Own the technical foundation that enables our engineering team to scale to 25+ engineers while maintaining deployment confidence.

  • Influence hiring decisions by defining infrastructure engineering standards and interviewing candidates who will join your growing team.

  • Establish yourself as the infrastructure thought leader at Ambrook, sharing insights about scaling agricultural fintech through Ambrook Research.

About you
  • 5-7 years building and scaling infrastructure systems, with experience making architectural decisions that directly impact business outcomes.

  • Proven track record of independently owning complex infrastructure projects from conception through production deployment.

  • Systems thinking that balances immediate operational needs with long-term scalability requirements.

  • Security mindset with experience implementing robust access controls and operational security practices.

  • Excited to build infrastructure that realizes our mission of making family-run businesses more profitable and resilient.

  • Comfortable taking ownership of ambiguous technical challenges and driving them to elegant solutions.

  • Bonus: Background in fintech, agricultural technology, or mission-driven companies.

  • Bonus: Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform, Terraform, Kubernetes, or similar cloud-native technologies.
