The Techno-Functional Subject Matter Expert
(SME) will serve as a critical bridge between business
stakeholders and technical teams. This role requires deep functional knowledge
of Model N Revenue Management solutions combined with strong technical
understanding to support implementation, configuration, integration,
optimization, and ongoing support for clients powered by Flex delivery models.
The SME will lead solution design, guide best
practices, resolve complex issues, and ensure successful delivery aligned with
business objectives.
Functional Responsibilities
· Act as the Model N functional expert across modules such as:
o Revenue Management
o Pricing & Contract Management
o Government Pricing (Medicaid, Medicare, 340B,
AMP, Best Price)
o Chargebacks, Rebates, and Incentives
· Gather, analyze, and document business
requirements from stakeholders.
· Translate business needs into functional
specifications and system configurations.
· Configure Model N applications to meet
client-specific requirements.
· Lead functional design workshops, user
story creation, and solution walkthroughs.
· Support UAT planning, execution, and defect
triage.
· Provide post-go-live functional support and
optimization recommendations.
· Collaborate with technical teams on:
o Integrations (inbound/outbound interfaces)
o Data migration and validation
o System enhancements and customizations
· Understand Model N data models, workflows, and
configuration frameworks.
· Support troubleshooting of complex functional
and technical issues.
· Review and validate technical design documents
to ensure alignment with functional intent.
· Work with APIs, batch jobs, and middleware
integrations where applicable.
· Serve as the primary SME point of contact for
clients and internal teams.
· Mentor junior consultants and analysts on Model
N functionality.
· Ensure adherence to delivery standards,
timelines, and quality benchmarks.
· Participate in release management, regression
testing, and change impact analysis.
· Coordinate with Flex delivery leads to support
scalable and efficient project execution.
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer
Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
· Relevant certifications in Model N or Life
Sciences domain are a plus.
· Experience with Flex or managed services
delivery models.
· Exposure to regulatory compliance and audit
support in Life Sciences.
· Ability to work across multiple projects and
priorities.
· Deep functional mastery of Model N
· Strong collaboration between business and
technical teams

This role is critical to ensuring
successful Model N solutions that drive compliance, efficiency, and revenue
optimization for clients powered by Flex.
Requirements
Functional Expertise
· Strong hands-on experience with Model N
Revenue Management solutions.
· Solid understanding of Life Sciences /
Pharmaceutical business processes.
· Experience with government pricing, rebates,
chargebacks, and compliance.
· Working knowledge of:
o SQL for data analysis and validation
o Data integrations and ETL concepts
o APIs and file-based interfaces
· Ability to read and interpret technical design
and integration documents.
· Experience working in cloud-based enterprise
applications.
· Excellent communication and stakeholder
management skills.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
· Ability to work in Agile and Waterfall delivery
models.
· Experience working in global delivery or
Flex-based engagement models.
· 8–12+ years of overall IT/Enterprise
application experience.
· 5+ years of hands-on experience with
Model N implementations or support.
· Prior experience as a Techno-Functional Lead
or SME preferred.
· Experience in client-facing consulting roles is
highly desirable.
