We are looking for a Financial Analyst to lead the financial modelling and quantitative analysis for the AI Transformation Assessment, developing a comprehensive cost / investment model, ROI projections, and a fully quantified Business & Investment Case that demonstrates the financial and strategic value of becoming an AI-empowered organisation. Ensure alignment with customer’s financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities / Duties:

  • Design and maintain complex financial models capturing cost structures, effort estimates, productivity gains, and long-term ROI across multiple departments.
  • Conduct baseline financial assessments of current operations, identifying cost inefficiencies and potential automation savings.
  • Develop scenario projections (Conservative, Base, Ambitious) that illustrate investment pathways, payback periods, and breakeven points.
  • Quantify tangible and intangible benefits, including efficiency gains, risk reduction, workforce redeployment, and audience growth impact.
  • Consolidate all quantitative findings into a robust and defensible Business & Investment Case, supported by sensitivity and risk analyses.
  • Partner with the AI Project Manager, Business Analysts, Technical SMEs, and Department Heads to validate assumptions and align financial outputs with operational realities.
  • Prepare executive-ready dashboards and summaries, translating analytical results into actionable insights for decision-makers.
  • Support Steering Committee presentations by articulating key financial narratives, trade-offs, and recommendations.

Expected Outcomes

  • A fully developed and validated financial model quantifying the investment, cost savings, and ROI associated with Customer’s AI Transformation initiatives.
  • A comprehensive Business & Investment Case, integrating departmental inputs, automation benefits, and infrastructure costs into a unified financial framework.
  • Clearly defined scenarios (Conservative, Base, Ambitious) outlining alternative investment paths, payback periods, and financial risks.
  • A set of executive dashboards and summaries presenting key financial insights, efficiency gains, and expected returns in a clear, decision-ready format.
  • Documented financial assumptions, dependencies, and sensitivities to support transparent and evidence-based decision making.
  • Integration of financial outputs into the final AI Transformation Roadmap, aligning funding priorities with business value and implementation feasibility.
  • Presentation of the quantified ROI and value-creation potential to Customer’s leadership and Steering Committee for approval of the next transformation phase.

Requirements

Required Qualifications / Skills:

  • 15+ years of experience in Financial Planning & Analysis, corporate finance, and strategic investment analysis, preferably within media, technology-driven or transformation environments.
  • Proven track record of building complex financial and ROI models for large-scale programmes.
  • Strong command of advanced financial modelling tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to convert financial data into clear business insights and executive-level storytelling.
  • Deep understanding of cost allocation, benefit realisation, and value-creation frameworks.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and explain financial concepts to non-finance audiences.

Desirable Qualifications / Skills:

  • Prior experience in media, SaaS, data analytics, or digital transformation initiatives is strongly preferred.
  • Previous involvement in AI-related projects is a plus.
  • Experience with the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).

Benefits
  • Be part of a forward-thinking team shaping the future of data-driven decision-making.
  • Work across diverse industries solving real-world problems with innovative solutions.
  • Competitive compensation with growth and learning opportunities.
  • Supportive environment promoting collaboration and continuous improvement.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
