MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Billing & Revenue Recognition
- Lead the end-to-end project billing process, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing in compliance with contract terms.
- Review project contracts to determine billing schedules, revenue recognition (ASC 606), and cost accruals.
- Collaborate with project managers or study directors to validate billable hours, expenses, and deliverables.
- Resolve billing discrepancies and address client inquiries related to invoices.
Financial Analysis & Reporting
- Conduct project-level P&L analysis, tracking actuals vs. budget/forecast, and identifying variances.
- Prepare monthly/quarterly financial reports for leadership, highlighting project performance, margins, and risks.
- Develop financial models to assess project profitability, resource utilization, and cost efficiency.
- Support forecasting and budgeting processes by providing project-level financial insights.
Process Improvement & Compliance
- Streamline billing and financial reporting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, accounting policies, and SOX compliance (if applicable).
- Work closely with the accounting team to reconcile project-related GL accounts and ensure proper revenue/cost allocation.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
Experience: 3+ years in financial analysis, project accounting, or billing (experience in bio-pharma or healthcare industry is preferred).
- Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, financial modeling).
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, NetSuite) and project accounting software.
- Knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition standards.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- CPA, CMA, or MBA (or progress toward certification), preferred but not required
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other data visualization tools, preferred but not required
