Marcus & Millichap is seeking a Financial Analyst to support a very active Commercial Investment Real Estate Brokerage team in our office located in Downtown Boston's Financial District. This in-office position provides underwriting and statistical support in a fast-paced, team-oriented, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain sophisticated Excel-based financial models, including pro formas, rent rolls, and cash flow projection analysis based on vacancy, Net Operating Income, Cap Rates, Equity Return, Price per Square Foot or other methods.
  • Assist in preparation of commercial real estate proposals, offering memorandums and various other types of client-facing reports.
  • Efficiently coordinate and organize property information including market data, occupancy data, expense analysis, property photos and rent/sales comparables.
  • Sending daily morning check-ins, including a prioritized task list that identifies key deliverables for the day.
  • Prepare accurate financial or executive summaries for all active listings.
  • Organize and present data analysis, draw objective conclusions and make recommendations.
  • Occasionally communicate directly with clients and other brokers representing prospects.

Education, Experience & Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Real Estate, Finance, Accounting or related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills may be acquired.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a financial analysis environment in the mortgage or commercial real estate industry.
  • Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.   
  • Database experience a plus.
