Salesforce Developer (Agentforce Specialist) - Salesforce Federal Delivery
Location: Remote (US-based). While this is a primarily remote role, possible in-person expectations include visits with customers and Thunder offices in Northern Virginia/DC.
Employment Type: This is a contingent role based upon a successful bid award.
Role Summary: The Salesforce Developer will deliver scalable, secure AI solutions on the Salesforce platform based on industry best practices and mission needs. Beyond traditional platform maintenance, this role pioneers the next generation of AI-driven government service by designing, developing, and deploying Agentforce agents and custom actions that transform everyday interactions between citizens and government agencies. You will collaborate with Solution Architects, Business Analysts, and Project Managers to implement customized, scalable, and compliant Salesforce AI solutions that directly support Federal agencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Agentforce & AI Development: Design, configure, and deploy autonomous and hybrid AI agents using Agentforce, customized subagent orchestration, instructions, and guardrails to handle complex mission inquiries.
- Custom Action Building: Develop Apex classes, flows, and API connectors to equip Agentforce agents with custom actions and API integrations required to execute complex tasks.
- Data Grounding & System Integration: Implement secure data grounding strategies and build API integrations between legacy Federal systems, Data Cloud, and Salesforce to provide Agentforce with accurate context.
- Custom Development: Build Lightning Web Components (LWCs) and Apex triggers to enhance user interfaces and backend processes that interact with AI agent workflows.
- AI Safety & Compliance: Enforce Federal security and compliance standards, configuring trust layers, data privacy controls, and audit mechanisms within AI interactions.
- Solution Design & Collaboration: Work alongside Business Analysts and Architects to translate complex mission-critical business requirements into high-impact AI agent architectures.
- Quality & Compliance: Conduct agent testing, prompt evaluation, and UAT support to ensure precise, reliable, and compliant AI outputs in cleared environments.
- DevSecOps & CI/CD: Support secure CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices to enable rapid, reliable deployments of AI configurations in Federal delivery environments.
Qualifications
- Experience: 4+ years of hands-on Salesforce development experience (Apex, LWC, secure REST/SOAP APIs) with practical expertise in building and deploying Agentforce agents or generative AI solutions.
- AgentForce Domain Experience: Deep understanding of Agentforce architecture, custom action development, prompt configuration, grounding techniques, and Data Cloud integration.
- Core Automation: Proven track record of implementing complex business logic, enterprise workflows, and custom platform automations using apex triggers, flows, and other declarative technology
- Federal Context: Experience integrating Salesforce with legacy Federal systems and navigating cleared, highly regulated environments.
- Development Tools & Methodologies: Proficiency with Git, secure coding standards, and DevSecOps/CI/CD pipelines. Active participant in Agile/Scrum delivery models.
- Clearance & Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship required, with the ability and willingness to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Certifications
- Required: Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I and Salesforce Certified AI Specialist
- Preferred: Data Cloud Consultant, and/or Salesforce Certified Platform Developer II
