Chase Auto is seeking an Associate for the External Communications team to help shape the external narrative for one of the nation’s leading auto finance businesses. This role focuses on advancing earned media and executive communications strategies that advances the reputation and visibility of Chase Auto, including its three strategic business units: Retail & Consumer, Private Label Captive Finance and Commercial Solutions. 

 

As an External Communications Associate within Consumer and Community Banking, you will support external communications strategy for Chase Auto’s three strategic business units, ensuring alignment with enterprise priorities and long-term growth objectives. In addition, you will collaborate across Consumer and Community Banking and Corporate Communications to ensure consistency with firmwide messaging and strategic priorities.

 

Job responsibilities

 

  • Help develop and execute integrated earned media strategies and executive speaking engagements that further enterprise priorities.
  • Develop and execute proactive, insight-driven narratives that highlight innovation, client partnerships, product capabilities, and industry leadership across both consumer and commercial segments.

  • Draft and deliver high-quality communications materials, including press releases, executive briefings, and messaging for external audiences.
  • Serve as a key coordinator across internal stakeholders and agency partners, ensuring alignment, consistency, and disciplined execution across campaigns.
  • Support communications processes tied to external engagement, including speaker preparation, materials development, and readiness for field-based teams.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on media coverage, industry trends, competitive dynamics, and the evolving media landscape, providing insights to inform strategy and identify opportunities to differentiate the business frameworks to evaluate the effectiveness of communications programs.

  • Support proactive and reactive media engagement, including issue management and coordination with corporate communications partners. 

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

 

  • 4+ years of experience in public relations, communications, or journalism, with experience in corporate and/or agency environments.
  • Experience supporting integrated communications strategies that include earned media and executive speaking engagements.
  • Strong writing and storytelling skills, with experience developing executive-level materials and messaging.
  • Experience supporting media relations and identifying opportunities to elevate brand, reputation, or community impact.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders in a fast-paced, highly matrixed environment.
  • Familiarity with media monitoring, reporting, and performance measurement, with the ability to translate results into actionable insights.
  • Collaborative mindset and strong partnership skills across marketing, business, and communications teams.
