Mind Computing is seeking a remote ETL/Data Integration Developer to support the Department of Veterans Affairs. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and implement data integration solutions. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Extract, Transform and Load, and (ETL) processes, a deep understanding of data architecture, and experience working in a collaborative Agile environment.
The candidate must reside within the continental US.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data across diverse systems and platforms.
- Collaborate with business analysts, data architects, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure solutions meet business needs.
- Develop and optimize data pipelines for efficient data movement and transformation, ensuring scalability and performance.
- Build data integration workflows using tools available in the AWS suite of cloud applications.
- Perform data validation, profiling, and cleansing to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Implement best practices for data integration, security, and governance, ensuring compliance with federal guidelines.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data integration issues, providing ongoing support for production systems.
- Document data flows, system processes, and technical specifications to support development and maintenance.
- Work with and transform x12 healthcare claims related transactions.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to support team objectives and ensure the success of the project.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in ETL development and data integration projects.
- Proficiency in AWS Cloud tools/products.
- Strong experience with SQL, relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server), and data modeling.
- Knowledge of ETL patterns and best practices for data processing and x12.
- Familiarity with cloud-based data services such as AWS Glue.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to debug and optimize complex data workflows.
Additional Qualifications:
- Experience with Federal IT projects or large-scale data migration initiatives.
- Knowledge of big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka.
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Python or R for data transformations.
- Certification in data integration tools or cloud platforms.
- Ability to obtain government clearance.
