Epic Implementation Executive Project ManagerContract Full-Time | Remote with Travel | Senior-Level | $90-$100 per hour
Position SummaryWe are seeking a seasoned Epic Implementation Executive Project Manager to lead large-scale Epic EHR implementation initiatives. This role sits at the intersection of IT leadership, program oversight, and operational alignment. The ideal candidate has extensive experience guiding complex Epic installations across multi-site healthcare environments, driving strategy, and ensuring delivery excellence from planning through go-live and stabilization.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide executive-level leadership for Epic implementation projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and timelines.
Oversee all phases of the Epic lifecycle including assessment, planning, build, testing, training, deployment, and optimization.
Serve as the primary liaison between technical teams, clinical/operational leaders, and organizational executives.
Develop and maintain program governance, communication plans, risk mitigation strategies, and milestone tracking.
Direct cross-functional project teams, including IT, application analysts, clinical informatics, and third-party partners.
Manage executive reporting, budget performance, resource planning, and contract/vendor oversight.
Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, change control practices, and industry best standards.
Drive project readiness for go-live, command center structure, and post-implementation support.
10+ years of healthcare IT project leadership, including extensive experience with Epic implementations.
Proven success in executive-level project or program management for large EHR transformations.
Deep understanding of Epic modules, workflows, and interdependencies across clinical and revenue cycle operations.
Strong communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making abilities.
Experience managing large project budgets, timelines, risks, and vendor relationships.
PMP, PgMP, Epic Certifications, or equivalent experience preferred.
Strategic leader with the ability to influence at all levels of an organization.
Comfortable guiding complex initiatives with multiple dependencies and stakeholders.
Adept at translating technical concepts into actionable decisions for executive teams.
Thrives in fast-paced, evolving healthcare environments.
