ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are looking for a consultative and technically adept Enterprise Sales-Engineer to join our strategically focused Sales team. Your primary aim is to act as a crucial technical advisor for our key enterprise clients, bridging the gap between their complex needs and the Talon. One product offering. This role is ideal for a quick learner who thrives on solving complex architectural challenges and articulating value to both business and technical leaders.

This is a remote role. While it’s ideal for candidates within commuting distance of one of our hubs (New York, Denver, or Boston), that’s not a requirement. This role also requires occasional travel (10%-20%).

ABOUT THE TEAM:
You will be joining our 6-person team in AMER, which is an integral part of our 13-person international pre-sales Sales Engineering unit. In this highly collaborative role, you will work closely with colleagues in the US and other global markets. Reporting to the Regional Lead, Sales Engineering, your responsibilities have two core components: driving the technical validation for key sales cycles and building relationships with key technical stakeholders in our strategically most important clients.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform technical discovery with existing clients, digging deeply into their current architecture, functional gaps, and technical requirements. Retain and organize relevant information to create refined strategies and value propositions together with the Strategic Account team
  • Design & Architect solutions to affirm how Talon. One can fit into complex tech stacks. This can involve building custom-built POCs that integrate with multiple technologies & creating data flow charts, all of which must stand up to scrutiny from our clients
  • Adjust messaging and demo material based on the client’s business, challenges, goals, impact, and particular audience
  • Align with the strategic sales team and strategize on the best path forward
  • Build relationships and technical champions within the client’s organization. Maintain and nurture existing relationships to receive early signals of new needs within the client's organization
  • Successfully execute technical Proofs of Technology (PoTs), on-site or remote
  • Own the technical relationship with clients during the sales process, up to and including CTOs and CPOs at Fortune 500 companies
  • Together with internal champions and the Account team, shape RFI and RFP early on. This includes engaging and educating stakeholders early on about the key differentiators within the solution landscape as well as how Talon. One USPs relate to their needs. Own the quality of our responses to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs from major multinational enterprises
  • Understand each customer’s business goals and translate them into effective technical solutions, and communicate the solutions effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to more junior members of the Sales Engineering and Sales teams

WHAT WE NEED YOU TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

  • Proven experience as a Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, or Business Analyst consultant, ideally with a strong commerce or customer engagement background
  • Ability to create consensus across technical and business stakeholders within enterprise organizations
  • Excellent understanding of modern application architectures (e.g., REST APIs, Microservices, Container Deployment)
  • Understanding of IT organizations, development of IT applications, and IT operations in medium to large-sized companies
  • Engineering or Computer Application background
  • Previous experience with problem-solving in a fast-moving, technical environment
  • Passion for consulting and ability to apply and present complex solutions effectively
  • Ability to adapt and tailor communication based on the industry and people you are dealing with
  • Fluent English language skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex topics in easily-understood, concise language

WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU:
We build flexible incentive technology — and we believe our people deserve that same flexibility in how they work, live, and grow. Here’s what you can expect when you join us:

  • Health and wellbeing for the whole you. We offer top-tier Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage through Blue Cross Blue Shield MA, MetLife, and VSP. Talon. One covers 80% of premiums, so you can focus on your health--not your bills. Mental health support is equally important, which is why every employee has confidential access to Nilo.health for coaching, therapy, and wellbeing resources.
  • Time and freedom. We trust you to take the time you need to rest and recharge with unlimited PTO that you manage on your own terms. Our flexible approach extends beyond time off: you can work from anywhere, including up to 90 days abroad each year, and access WeWork On-Demand spaces for a change of scenery when you need it.
  • Financial security and peace of mind. Plan confidently for your future with our 401(k)--we match 100% of your contributions up to 4%, helping you build long-term savings faster. We also provide 100% company-paid Life Insurance, Short-Term, and Long-Term Disability coverage, because protecting what matters shouldn’t come at an extra cost.
  • Growth that moves with you. You’ll have a $1,200 annual learning budget and full LinkedIn Learning access to explore new skills, certifications, or areas of curiosity. Whether it’s advancing your craft, learning a new tool, or exploring leadership development, we support your growth.
  • Work your way. Your workspace should work for you. That’s why we offer a $350 home office setup budget and a $50 monthly allowance to keep it running smoothly. From ergonomics to aesthetics, we’ll help you create a setup that fuels focus and comfort.

The total compensation for this role is $175,000–$225,000 (base + commission) and is designed to reward performance and impact. Your placement within this range will reflect your relevant experience, skills, and qualifications. Salary ranges are regularly reviewed and may be updated to remain competitive.

WHY YOU SHOULD WORK FOR US:

  • The right attitude: modern methods and a diverse, creative workspace with an open and international culture
  • Everyone for the product: Together we create a flexible, highly scalable product with state-of-the-art technologies. We can only succeed if everyone works as a team
  • Healthy Growth: Growing our company means growing everyone in the team. We love to share knowledge and learn
  • A great environment: Flexible and family-friendly environment, bright and easily accessible offices, modern software and hardware
  • High flexibility degree: Prefer to work early or late at night? Do you have to pick up your children from kindergarten? Do you prefer working abroad? We believe in results and motivated employees

  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
