Make Your Mark:

Are you ready to be more than just an Enterprise Account Executive? This is your chance to be a true pioneer and help shape BlackLine's success across the DACH region. In this exciting hybrid role, you'll target new enterprise customers while also developing and expanding our relationships with existing clients.
You'll join a world-class GTM team. We're looking for someone strategic, collaborative, and self-driven who thrives on the dual challenge of winning new business and becoming a trusted partner to our clients. If you're ready to leave your mark and make a meaningful impact on a market full of opportunity, this position is for you.

You'll Get To:

  • Design and execute a strategic territory plan to penetrate new enterprise accounts across the DACH region (targeting organisations with revenues starting from USD 750M);
  • Lead the full sales cycle for new business independently, from initial prospecting and discovery through to negotiation and closing;
  • Maintain and strategically grow a portfolio of existing clients, focusing on retention, deepening relationships, and driving adoption of BlackLine's solutions;
  • Act as a trusted advisor to CFOs, financial controllers, and other C-level executives, going beyond technical features to articulate a clear return on investment;
  • Build and lead virtual teams, orchestrating internal resources from Marketing, Business Development, and Pre-Sales to deliver a world-class customer experience;
  • Develop a predictable sales pipeline from new business and account expansion, consistently meeting your revenue targets;
  • Demonstrate active listening and clear communication to build credibility, foster trust, and influence purchasing decisions at the highest level of an organisation;
  • Become an expert on your clients' businesses, understanding the priorities that drive their decisions and aligning our solutions with their most critical initiatives.

What You'll Bring:

  • Proven track record of selling enterprise software to large, complex organisations; experience selling complex accounting, financial technology solutions, or coming from a direct competitor is a strong plus (nice-to-have);
  • We are also very interested in candidates from non-traditional sales backgrounds; you could be a subject-matter expert from a consulting firm (with a background in accounting or audit) or a qualified accountant with deep accounting knowledge, ready for an exciting new career step in software sales;
  • A deep understanding or solid knowledge of accounting principles is essential for credibility in this role;
  • You are a self-driven "doer," with exceptional account planning skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment;
  • You are a natural collaborator, able to build meaningful relationships and work effectively with internal and external stakeholders to move deals forward;
  • A track record of successfully engaging with C-level executives, with the ability to articulate a clear, concise, and compelling business value proposition;
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt your style, build trust, and influence decisions;
  • This role requires a willingness to travel to meet prospects and clients as needed;
  • Fluency in English and German is required.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
