Right now, we're looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our Moonlock Lab team that helps take Moonlock to the next level. The team develops security threat protection instruments that protect 20+ millions of MacPaw users worldwide.
What we do:
  • conduct in-depth research on malware, other emerging threats and technologies, and the brand new macOS security mechanisms;
  • examine recent virus samples, look for ways to detect malware by its behavior, and outsmart the developers of malicious programs;
  • promote MacPaw`s cybersecurity brand through publications and lectures.

Engineering Managers at MacPaw lead the engineering teams by planning and managing the development processes to deliver quality product solutions. They also constantly work on strengthening the team`s technological expertise through individual and teamwork.
So in this role, you'll lead a driven team and ensure collaboration across research, reverse engineering, threat intelligence, development, and Moonlock Lab's public efforts.

In this role, you will:
  • Plan and agree on engineering and technical research activities that support the development of internal malware analysis tools and the quality of malware detection, and approve them with the Product Manager.
  • Manage teamwork by planning and prioritizing the backlog, clarifying tasks, monitoring progress, and eliminating blockers to establish effective coordination and delivery efforts.
  • Identify and cope with cross-team/functional dependencies and risks with other teams to eliminate blockers in the value delivery process.
  • Maintain proper team performance by conducting ongoing operational analytics and ensuring the delivery of regular reporting to the PM.
  • Drive continual improvements in Malware Lab analysis performance, efficiency, and workflows by implementing new practices, approaches, and tools, improving existing ones to ensure the effectiveness of Malware Lab.
  • Support the product certification process.
  • Provide team guidance and conduct regular team management processes: hiring, training, development and salary review, and others aligned with company practices and policies
  • Contribute to company-wide initiatives and technical transformation projects.

Skills you'll need to bring:
  • Demonstrated experience in an Engineering Manager (or similar) role
  • A solid technical background
  • R&D experience
  • A fast-learning mindset and a love of diving into new tools and techniques
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • The ability to balance routine work with continuous improvements
  • Intermediate level of English or higher

As a plus:
  • Hands-on experience with malware detection, threat intelligence, or security tooling
  • Experience in macOS development
