SharkNinja’s Robot team is looking for an experienced Principal IOT Software Architect to join our team and make significant contributions to our applications and technical strategy. This challenging role requires knowledge and experience in all aspects of cloud technology including application development, hybrid environments, connectivity, container platforms, modern data services, security, monitoring and cost management.

Responsibilities

· Understand and develop key concepts for implementation by our firmware and cloud teams

· Define architectural strategies and components that support data modeling standards, data quality policies and enforcement, as well as data security

· Produce Proof of Concepts in high risk areas to de-risk architecture

· Must be able to understand and debug low-level cloud and firmware logs

· Definition and creation of toolsets that can help accelerate our time to market

· Delivers guidelines and assurances to the teams around IoT infrastructure support

· Responsible for providing guidance for multiple software subsystems (embedded, factory tools, and firmware infrastructure)

· Creation and Support of systems (or subsystems) that decrease our time to manufacturing

· Define device and cloud properties to ensure backward compatibility to current shipping products while innovating new products

· Create system monitors that ensure the health of our IoT system by consistently validating datapoint from the Cloud

· Define and develop technical roadmaps and identifies cloud capabilities that can give us a competitive edge

· Evaluate other cloud solutions for competitive features that might be desirable in our current cloud vendor

· Lead teams building scalable, reliable, cost-effective, and highly secure solutions connecting millions of devices to the Cloud

· Participate in strategic technology discussions with Product Management and Marketing teams

· Lead consumer connected product roadmap initiatives, Vision, Sensor, Motor Technologies, and Mobile Applications (iOS/Android/Voice Control)

· Work closely with global IoT management to strategize and implement industry-leading IoT Technologies

· Work with our cloud vendor to drive their roadmap with changes and features that benefit SharkNinja

· Mentor others on architectural concepts, interactions, and infrastructure

The successful candidate will have a combination of knowledge, skills, and experience that would include the following:

· Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline strongly preferred or equivalent work experience

· Proven software architecture experience in development of application and/or web-based software products preferably in an agile environment

· Experience with embedded device and cloud architecture

· Experience with modern software architecture paradigms and patterns

· Good influencer and mentor; proven authority and credibility at senior levels

· Strong business judgment and record of making the right choices

· Experience with software quality assurance and testing

· Ability to write and communicate clearly and concisely including an ability to document software architecture

· Knowledge and demonstrated experience as a full stack software developer, ideally with exposure to elements across our technology stack (Linux, embedded firmware, HTTP/HTTPS, MQTT, cloud infrastructure, as well as iOS and Android applications)

· Cloud technology experience, AWS, Azure, etc.

· Knowledge and application of software engineering practices (e.g. Unit testing, TDD, CI/CD, SOLID, BDD etc.)

· Proven ability to work as part of a team

· Ability to analyze and solve problems

· Excellent communication and team working skills
