Who you are


In this crucial role, your time will be focused on managing the engineering efforts for a team focused on critical consumer-facing work. Your responsibilities span, but are not limited to, directing day-to-day efforts, managing new/existing projects, conducting code reviews, and driving mission-critical projects to a successful outcome. You will lead teams of talented engineers while growing their capabilities through coaching, mentoring, and direct feedback. You will be fully responsible for leading your team in accomplishing key deliverables for Drizly. We are an agile shop, focused on continuous improvement, so expect to be running sprint planning meetings, stand-ups, retros, and post mortems. While working closely with other engineering leaders, you’ll help drive innovation and establish best practices across the organization as we scale.


Ideally, during your career, you've really enjoyed helping small businesses with their technical needs. You've worked independently with on-site systems to provide technical support and solutions, and not let novel configurations or unusually deployed systems get in the way of delivering value. You should have a good eye for building workable, low-maintenance systems. Ideally, you have experience in eCommerce, payment systems, or the food and beverage technology space.


What the role is


In this Engineering Manager position, you will play an essential role on the engineering team by improving one of Drizly’s most important business metrics, selection and availability. You will oversee the inventory integration process, from bringing a store online quickly and efficiently, to maximizing the retailer’s shelf available for purchase on Drizly’s catalog. 


You want to invest in our people and make sure that they have a great career trajectory here at Drizly. You will handle the day-to-day management responsibilities for your engineering teams by focusing on career growth, goal setting, and creating new opportunities. You will be responsible for team execution, process, and accountability while partnering with Product to help shape the future roadmap and uncover new possibilities as we grow.

In this role you will:

  • Supporting our retail network by bringing retail integrations online, and supporting the businesses on our platform
  • Help your team develop new skills and advance in their careers
  • Strong communication both within your team and across the engineering organization
  • Focus on team-building both in helping to hire amazing talent and creating a collaborative environment
  • Build roadmaps and develop a long-term team vision in partnership with Product and other stakeholders
  • Understand and take into account business goals when leading your teams to success
  • Effectively work across teams to tackle complex issues

The Other Stuff:

  • Base salary range: $127,000 - $251,000 depending on location plus bonus
