As an Engagement Manager, you will be the main contact for agencies, driving customer success, facilitating strategic planning, and enhancing AI visibility through collaboration with internal teams.

Profound is the marketing platform for the age of AI search. The way brands reach people is being rewritten — AI models like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Mode are now the answer layer between companies and their customers. We built the platform marketers use to understand, measure, and win in that world: the analytics, intelligence, and agent automation that turn AI search from a threat into a competitive advantage.

We went from 0 to a $1B valuation in 18 months. Revenue grew 100x last year. Our customers include 15% of the Fortune 500 like Walmart, Wayfair and U.S. Bank, and innovators like Ramp, MongoDB, and Figma. We are backed by Sequoia, Kleiner Perkins, LSVP, and Khosla Ventures — and we are moving fast enough that the people joining now are building the playbook everyone who comes after them will run.

As an Engagement Manager for Agencies, you'll sit at the intersection of strategy and execution, driving growth across our agency / consultancy partners and their end clients. Partnering directly with top agencies like Edelman, Golin, Dentsu, and Wpromote, as well as top-tier consultancies, you'll provide strategic consultation, success planning, and targeted support for their end clients. You'll work closely with internal teams across Sales, Product, and Engineering to address agency needs, drive platform adoption, and deliver meaningful outcomes. As a trusted expert guiding agencies and consultancies through the future of AI search, you'll share best practices and actionable tactics to enhance their clients' AI visibility through the Profound platform.

What you'll do
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor for marketing, digital, PR, and integrated agencies of all sizes, alongside top-tier management consultancies

  • Conduct regular strategic business reviews, proactively identifying opportunities and addressing risks

  • Deeply understand customer objectives and proactively manage relationships with key stakeholders across their teams and their clients

  • Effectively multi-thread customer engagements to mitigate risk from stakeholder turnover

  • Collaborate internally with Sales, Product, and Engineering teams to optimize customer implementation and resolve technical challenges

Who you are
  • At least 3 or more years of experience in agencies or consultancies working in an account management role or SEO/GEO role or AI strategy role, OR similar experience within a martech company in agency / consultancy engagement, partnerships, and/or customer success, OR 3+ years of experience within the marketing department of a top-tier brand, ideally collaborating directly with agencies, consultancies and external vendors of the brand.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to deliver presentations and demonstrations effectively to stakeholders of all levels and disciplines.

  • Self-motivated and driven, with a passion for building strong customer relationships, especially with top tier agencies and consultancies.

  • Comfortable diving in head-first in the face of challenges and ambiguity.

  • Analytical mindset with strong comfort working with numbers and digging into technical problems or data problems to find a solution.

  • Able to own a process end to end.

  • Strong at managing multiple initiatives simultaneously and comfortable juggling priorities, shifting context from different communication channels at a fast pace.

Specifically:

  • You love to build true partnerships: You see agencies and consultancies as our partners in the marketing world, and you seek to benefit them and drive value for them alongside Profound, empowering them to educate their own agency's team, clients and prospects on AI search.

  • You build your own systems. You have a real methodology for managing dozens of strategic, multi-threaded agency- and consultancy-style accounts, and you are comfortable in environments where the playbook is still being written.

  • You are genuinely curious about AI search as a discipline. You understand that optimizing for AI citation share is a different problem than optimizing for search rankings. You do not need to be an expert on day one — you need to develop a real point of view and represent it credibly in front of executive level customers within 60 days.

Location

This is an on-site role based in our NYC, SF, Boston, London, or Singapore office, designed for builders who thrive on speed, iteration, and meaningful impact.

For this role, the expected base salary range is $110,000 to $180,000 before variable compensation (NYC - other locations are depending on market). Profound’s total compensation package is designed to be competitive and includes base salary, variable compensation, equity, and a full range of benefits and perks. Final compensation will depend on factors such as your skills, experience, qualifications, and location, and will be determined during the interview process. Our recruiting team will share more details about the full compensation package and benefits as you move through hiring.

  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
