US Endowment & Foundation Segment Leader
We are seeking a talented individual to join our US Wealth Leadership team at Mercer. This role will be based in the United States. This is a hybrid role with a requirement of working at least three days per week in the office.
The Endowments & Foundations (E&F) Segment Leader will play a critical role in shaping and accelerating the next phase of growth for Mercer’s E&F practice within the US Wealth business. This role will shape the strategic direction for the segment, drive strong financial performance, and expand Mercer’s presence and impact among endowments, foundations, and other mission-driven institutional investors.
We will count on you to:
- Achieve financial results, including revenue, profit, and sales for the E&F segment
- Serve as the commercial leader responsible for day-to-day business decisions and execution of segment strategic and tactical priorities
- In partnership with key segment and commercial leaders, set and execute the strategic direction including segmentation, value proposition, and competitive positioning
- Manage direct reports and influence key partners in sales, local offices and other segments
- Develop and manage talent within the segment
- Support broader US Investments leadership objectives and collaborate with Non-Profit segment leaders globally
- Drive cross-Marsh collaboration to unlock additional opportunities
- Identify opportunities to expand Mercer’s services and solutions to meet the evolving needs of E&F institutional investors.
- Maintain strong industry expertise to guide solution development and ensure Mercer continues to deliver high-quality services to E&F clients.
What you need to have:
- Deep understanding of E&F client needs, including governance structures, strategic asset allocation, and the use of alternative investments in long-term portfolios of endowments and foundations
- Ability to lead complex dialog with Chief Investment Officers, Investment Committees and Boards of Endowments and Foundations
- Proven ability to develop a robust multi-year strategy including market analysis, competitive analysis, proposition development, financial modeling, and resourcing
- Experience developing and executing commercial business plans that translate into measurable financial results
- Ability to identify and act on client trends, risks and opportunities that inform client solutions, business solutions or both
- Ability to identify and elevate potential inorganic growth opportunities in the segment

- 15+ years of experience advising on or overseeing endowment and foundation portfolios with significant allocations to alternative investments

- Proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams and fostering collaboration across multiple stakeholders within a matrixed organization
