The Role

We are seeking a multidisciplinary electrical engineering technician. On a day-to-day basis, you will assemble, test, and maintain electrical systems. Ideally, you will have experience in electro-mechanical systems, a passion for problem solving and direct experience in an electronics lab. 

What You’ll Do

  • Collaborate with electrical engineers and manufacturers to build, route, and install and complex cable harnesses, and wiring assemblies for robotic systems
  • Use a variety of wire crimpers and use good crimping techniques to manufacture a reliable robot
  • Perform PCBA inspection, assembly, and surface mount rework
  • Disassemble and debug robotic systems 
  • Provide prompt feedback to improve cable routing or assembly on robotic systems
  • Review schematics and cable drawings to identify and troubleshoot design problems that arise during the building of electrical systems 
  • Inspect designs for quality control, report findings, and make recommendations.
  • Document, diagram and write specifications for assembly and rework.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, or repair electrical instruments or testing equipment. 
  • Set up test equipment and evaluate the performance of developmental parts, assemblies, or systems and then analyze test information to resolve design-related problems. 
  • Maintain electrical equipment and re-stock used supplies
  • Great communication, written and collaborative skills.
  • Make prototypes according to engineering instructions, technical manuals, and basic knowledge of electronics is a plus   
  • Proficiency with Windows, Linux experience is a plus 

Requirements 

  • Associates in Electrical Engineering/Technology or relevant work experience 
  • Five plus years of hands-on work on electronics/electro-mechanical systems.
