BR+A is looking for a skilled Electrical Designer in our New Haven, CT or Boston, MA office. The candidate will be strongly motivated, well organized, and show professional initiative. The ability to take ownership of assignments and perform well both independently and as part of the project team is necessary. The ideal candidate will possess a strong working knowledge of Revit, and their responsibilities will include:

  • Providing Engineering, Design work and drafting of plans
  • Implementing approved system concepts from a schematic diagram to floor plans
  • Sketching rough layouts to review with Project Engineer/Project Manager
  • Reviewing product cut sheets and technical information
  • Communicating with Project Manager/Project Engineer regarding potential problems
  • Submitting the required documentation per project deadlines and milestones
  • Attending in-house coordination meetings when appropriate
  • Developing a strategy to meet the projects’ schedule
  • Assisting in the development of engineering systems concepts (M/E)
  • Assisting the design team on major design issues
  • Organizing required technical correspondence, emails, and calculations

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit
  • EIT (Engineer in Training)
  • 2-5 years of experience
  • Good understanding of engineering concepts, design, and spatial requirements
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Proactive and collaborative team member
  • Experience in designing Healthcare, Commercial, Higher Education or Laboratory projects is preferred

Salary range for 2-5 years of experience: $80,000 - $100,000
