Job Description:
Be a part of the Chief Strategy Office (CSO), and report to the VP of Strategy & Innovation and work closely with other members of the CSO to help lead impactful and complex projects with high visibility. Gather and organize information on problems or procedures; analyze data gathered and develop solutions or alternative methods of proceeding; responsible for end-to-end project delivery, including structuring the problem, scoping the effort, taking a hypothesis-driven approach, conducting the appropriate analysis, and delivering actionable insights and recommendations; plan organizational change, communications, information flow, integrated production methods, and cost analysis; collaborate with executives, cross-functional business partners, and external stakeholders; confer with personnel concerned to ensure successful functioning of newly implemented procedures; develop a deep understanding of the Vertex business including a comprehensive view of Vertex’s existing product portfolio and customer value proposition; break down complex problems and structure and scope projects; create strategic frameworks and financial models (on par with leading consulting firms) and will use specific software/tools to create financial models; conduct primary and secondary research and perform rigorous data analysis; develop presentations to clearly communicate problem space, analysis, and insights; support the creation of CEO and Board of Directors level communications; and stay current on market, regulatory, and technology trends relevant to Vertex.
Education/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Business Administration, Economics, or a related field and five (5) years of experience in each of the following:
- Conduct customer segmentation to identify specific segments with distinct needs;
- Calculate the Total Addressable Market, Serviceable Addressable Market, and Serviceable Obtainable Market for the company’s current and prospective markets;
- Design business models and pricing strategies that align to customer expectations and opportunity for maximum monetization opportunity;
- Study regulatory and technology trends and identify specific impacts to the company, including potential new growth opportunities;
- Conduct competitive analysis to determine current positioning and opportunities for driving competitive advantage; and
- Create detailed financial and market models to methodologically project the market and growth potential.
- Ability to work 100% remotely from within the continental U.S.
