Our Opportunity:
Chewy is hiring a Director of Product Engineering. You will be in a high-profile position which will have exposure across the entire Pharmacy business. You will define the product vision, implementation strategy, and oversee the entire product development lifecycle from concept to launch and beyond.
What You'll Do:
  • Define product vision and implementation strategy for a critical Pharmacy platform, setting goals, priorities, and timelines based on tradeoffs between business impact and engineering capacity
  • Establish strong working relationships with business owners, product managers, designers, and other collaborators, direct product and program managers to translate business needs into technical solutions
  • Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment, ensuring alignment to relevant regulatory, compliance and quality standards
  • Provide strong technical leadership, build autonomous teams & deliver on an ambitious roadmap while meeting strict SLAs
  • Mentor technical leaders and provide career development and professional growth of our amazing engineers and managers
  • Contribute to technical architecture decisions and lead efforts to build and maintain a highly scalable software platform
  • Manage the engineering team's budget and resources effectively
  • Communicate product development progress, risks, and issues to collaborators and senior management
  • Stay up to date with emerging healthcare standards and technologies and finding opportunities for innovation to improve product development processes and enhance product offerings

What You'll Need:
  • 12+ years of proven experience in software engineering and product development
  • Ability to think strategically and translate business goals into technical solutions
  • Strategic manager combining business and technical execution skills
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
  • Must be a believer in Agile with ability to implement in a fast-paced environment
  • Experienced in leading engineering leaders, product and program managers
  • BS or MS in Computer Science or related field
  • Position may require travel

The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k, an annual bonus potential, new hire and annual equity grant.

Salaried-exempt team members have unlimited PTO, subject to manager approval. Team members will receive six paid holidays per year. Team members may be eligible for paid sick and family leave in compliance with applicable state and local regulations.
Base Salary Range
$208,000-$351,000 USD
