Raven is seeking a highly strategic and execution-oriented Director or Senior Director of Corporate Development to play a key role across capital formation, business development, and indication strategy initiatives within our incubator portfolio—with a particular focus on immunology, inflammation, immunotherapy for autoimmune diseases and cancers, and adjacent therapeutic areas.
This individual will work closely with founders, scientific leadership, and the Raven investment team to drive target and pathway diligence to support company creation and enable critical growth milestones across early-stage immunology programs, therapeutic platforms, and cross-disciplinary technologies. This is a highly visible, cross-functional role ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, brings both analytical and storytelling strength, and is excited to help shape the next generation of biotech companies.
Key ResponsibilitiesFundraising & Capital Formation- Partner with Raven team members and portfolio leadership to support project ideation, including validation and competitive landscaping/positioning, fundraising efforts, including early-stage venture rounds, structured financings, and strategic transactions.
- Identify, engage, and manage relationships with external partners, venture capital firms, corporate venture groups, and institutional investors.
- Lead development of investor materials (pitch decks, financing plans, data rooms, FAQs, etc.) and support due diligence efforts.
- Help shape and refine company-level investment narratives in alignment with platform and pipeline milestones—especially around high-priority immunology innovations.
- Support financial modeling efforts in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Support partnering efforts across the portfolio, including out-licensing, in-licensing, and strategic collaborations—particularly for emerging immunology assets and platforms.
- Prepare external-facing BD materials and participate in meetings with potential partners or pharma stakeholders as needed.
- Conduct competitive and commercial landscape analyses to inform BD strategy and support licensing decisions, with a focus on immunology markets.
- Track and manage BD funnel and diligence workstreams in collaboration with portfolio company leadership.
- Collaborate with scientific founders and platform teams to develop indication prioritization frameworks—with particular emphasis on immunology, autoimmune, and inflammatory disorders.
- Conduct market, regulatory, and payer analyses to inform therapeutic area selection, indication sequencing, and product positioning.
- Shape early go-to-market plans in coordination with Raven investment partners, commercial advisors, and company leadership.
- Support long-range planning efforts, including exit scenario modeling, valuation planning, and investor messaging development.
- 10+ years of relevant experience in corporate development, strategy, venture capital, investment banking, or biotech business operations.
- Ph.D., M.D., or other advanced degree in a life sciences field strongly preferred; background in immunology, inflammation, or related areas is a plus.
- Demonstrated track record supporting or leading venture financings and/or strategic transactions in biotech, with bonus points for prior immunology program experience.
- Strong grasp of the early-stage biotech ecosystem, including venture and pharma dynamics.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills with the ability to craft and deliver compelling investor and partner narratives.
- Highly collaborative, low-ego approach with ability to operate independently and execute under tight timelines.
- Deep scientific curiosity and the ability to quickly understand complex technical concepts across modalities and disease areas.
- Experience in a company creation environment (e.g., incubator, venture firm, or startup).
- Familiarity with early clinical development decision points and how they inform BD/financing milestones.
- Prior work in immunology or with companies pursuing autoimmune, inflammatory, or immunotherapy approaches.
- Comfort engaging with C-level executives, board members, and external partners.
- Interest in and comfort with early-stage scientific operations—e.g., contracting with and managing CROs and consultants, building and executing scientific plans in collaboration with company leadership.
The base salary range reflects our good faith estimate at the time of posting. Final compensation will depend on factors like experience, skills, and location. The role may also be eligible for an annual bonus and long-term incentives. Compensation and benefits may be updated in the future.
