Alma seeks an experienced senior sales professional. The ideal candidate is a dynamic self-starter that can take over a growing territory and make an immediate impact by getting LEAs to adopt Alma SIS & Technology Solutions. Knowledge of the SIS and Public Education market - either through experience selling to technologists or implementing and managing a district SIS as an administrator - is highly preferred. Along with this experience, a deep network of district educators, administrators, technologists, regional influencers, and supporting County Offices of Education will allow for a fast start and long term success in this role.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and drive a territory plan designed to dramatically increase Alma’s presence and reputation 
  • Produce prospective leads through calling, emails and networking opportunities 
  • Coordinate sales effort within Alma with Marketing, Product, and Customer Engagement
  • Present, promote, and sell Alma products/services to prospective customers
  • Establish, develop, and maintain positive customer, prospect, and influencer relationships
  • Perform cost-benefit and needs analysis of potential customers to meet their needs
  • Track activities, communication, and sales through SalesForce
  • Keep leadership updated on customer needs, competitive activities, and new products and services.
  • Become a master of change management to help prospects navigate change management in their district 
  • Keep abreast of best practices and industry trends in Massachusetts and education in whole
  • Represent Alma at trade shows, panels, and ed-tech networking events
  • Growth mindset that seeks to constantly improve through coaching, intentional practice, and collaboration.
  • Meet and/or exceed sales growth targets
  • Collaboration with Customer Engagement to amplify customer stories and drive referrals 

Qualifications:

  • Proven 3-5 years experience selling software to K-12 district administrators 
  • Education background with direct SIS experience preferred 
  • Highly motivated and target driven with a proven track record in sales
  • Excellent selling, communication and negotiation skills
  • Prioritizing, time management and organizational skills
  • Must have a valid U.S. drivers license
  • 50% travel expected 
  • Ability to create and deliver presentations tailored to the audience needs
  • Relationship management skills and openness to feedback
  • BS/BA degree or equivalent
  • Skilled in developing new business acquisition and territory growth plans
  • Must have unbridled enthusiasm for using SIS, enterprise software, data driven decisioning, and standards alignment to improve student outcomes
  • Must be highly-skilled in presenting to value to multiple stakeholders in a district from Superintendent to para-professionals 
  • Familiar with local, state, federal funding sources to support the growth of Alma marketshare
  • Must be familiar with EdTech trends, nationally and regionally, and their impact in a K-12 school environment
  • Highly effective communicator, both written and oral
  • Self-motivated, good organizational skills, detail-oriented, ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to self-generate leads
  • Thrives in a deadline driven environment
