Tenstorrent is searching for a Director to lead the growth of the RISC-V software ecosystem. This role involves expanding our software team to establish RISC-V as the industry standard. The position offers an opportunity to work on next-generation RISC-V systems, encompassing embedded and real-time systems, as well as server platform designs with diverse use cases for complex workloads. This is an ideal opportunity for a driven individual to engage in innovative projects within a dynamic, collaborative setting, while also contributing to and leveraging open-source communities.

This role is remote, based out of the United States or Australia.

Who You Are

  • A leader excited to manage and grow an engineering team delivering RISC-V software.
  • Someone who thrives in guiding teams though complex projects.
  • A strong communicator who enjoys collaborating with engineering, sales, product, and open-source communities.
  • Familiarity with CPU architectures and systems design.

What We Need

  • BS/MS/PhD in Computer or Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Ability to grow and scale a worldwide engineering team. Proven experience with prior leadership of system software teams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and open-source communities to define and deliver for the overall RISC ecosystem.
  • Broad knowledge and network into open-source software communities. 

What You Will Learn

  • Gain deep expertise in bleeding edge RISC-V system software across embedded, real-time, and server environments.
  • Work on AI and ML workloads, accelerators, and hardware/software co-design.
  • Contribute to and influence the broader open-source software ecosystem in RISC-V.
  • Grow technical leadership skills by shaping methodologies, tools, and cross-team processes.

Compensation for all engineers at Tenstorrent ranges from $100k - $500k including base and variable compensation targets. Experience, skills, education, background and location all impact the actual offer made.
