Description
The Property Claims analytics team is seeking a talented and highly motivated individual to lead our Loss Insights team within US Retail Markets. The Loss Insights team operates within the US Retail Markets Property Claims organization, playing a central role in the most consequential decisions across the claims lifecycle. The team quantifies the financial impact of changes including the adoption of new tools, vendors, and process innovations that affect how billions of dollars in property claims are handled. This is a team of rigorous, intellectually driven analysts who value asking the right question as much as finding the right answer. As manager, you'll lead a group energized by complex problems and meaningful work, whose analysis directly shapes claims strategy at one of the world's largest insurers.
**This role may have in-office requirements depending on candidate location**
Candidates who live within 50 miles of Boston, MA; Portsmouth, NH; Seattle, WA; Columbus, OH; or Plano, TX will follow a hybrid schedule, coming into the office two days per week. Otherwise, this role is remote.
About the Role:
Lead the Loss Insights team of analysts who design and execute high-complexity analyses driving tangible improvements to claims handling processes and financial outcomes. As a people leader, you set the analytical vision, develop the talent, and serve as the senior analytical partner to leadership - ensuring the team doesn't just report data, but thinks critically, focuses on the "so what", challenges assumptions, and advocates for evidence-based decisions to drive proper outcomes.
What We're Looking For:
A talent developer. You build high-performing analytical teams - hiring well, coaching individuals, and creating an environment where curious people do their best work.
Analytically credible. You have hands-on analytics experience and can guide methodology, interrogate assumptions, and elevate the quality of the team's work across multiple data sources and tools.
A clear communicator and influencer. You translate complex analysis into compelling narratives for non-technical and executive audiences, and you represent the team's point of view with confidence.
A strategic prioritizer. You manage competing demands, allocate resources with discipline, and keep the team focused on the highest-impact work.
A collaborative leader. You build strong relationships across partner teams, invest in your colleagues' success, and bring energy and engagement to the organization.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Mathematics, Economics, Statistics or other quantitative field; Ph.D. helpful given quantitative work they are leading.
  • Minimum 8, typically 10, years' experience; must have exceptional planning, analytical, decision-making and project management skills.
  • Expert knowledge of data sources, tools and business drivers.
  • Knowledge of statistical techniques required. Industry knowledge critical.
