Databricks is seeking a Director, Marketing Strategy and AI Transformation to own how our global marketing organization decides where to invest and reimagine how the work gets done. This role brings annual planning and investment strategy together with the redesign of marketing workflows for an AI and agentic operating model.

You will set the planning and investment operating model for marketing while leading the shift from human-executed to agent-executed work across the organization. This highly cross-functional role partners closely with Marketing Leadership and their departments, Finance, Sales Strategy and our central platform and data teams to make investment decisions that are grounded in real capacity and to turn AI capability into standard practice at scale.

Reporting to the AVP of Marketing Technology, Data, and Growth, you will build and lead a net-new team, establishing this function from the ground up.

The impact you will have:

  • Own the end-to-end annual marketing planning process, establishing a single planning system of record with explicit trade-offs
  • Evaluate leading indicators and business outcomes to understand low and high performance areas and drivers
  • Identify and scale best practices to drive incremental growth across global business units
  • Build and maintain the marketing capacity model spanning people, agencies, and agent-based execution, so that commitments are made against known capacity constraints
  • Oversee development of the highest-leverage marketing workflows for agent execution, targeting a step-change improvement in time-to-market
  • Align marketing investment strategy against the company's strategic bets, ensuring clarity on spend and capacity toward the highest-impact products and programs, and improving pipeline efficiency.
  • Drive marketing target setting in partnership with Marketing, Finance and Sales Strategy, establishing a transparent methodology which can shift agilely with the business
  • Drive agent adoption across the global marketing organization and establish org-wide standards for prompts, context, and agent workflows, measured by sustained change in time to market.
  • Establish AI governance and adoption guardrails for agent-based marketing, setting standards for quality, risk, data privacy, and responsible use, so that adoption scales safely and consistently.
  • Build and develop a high-performing team from the ground up, and model and reinforce Databricks' culture principles.

What we look for:

  • Deep experience in marketing strategy, marketing planning, marketing operations, or GTM/revenue operations in a B2B environment within SaaS or enterprise technology, including ownership of an annual planning or investment allocation cycle at scale.
  • Demonstrated experience redesigning workflows around AI, including hands-on work building agent workflows, writing and iterating prompts, and structuring context
  • Track record of driving sustained behavior change across a large, matrixed organization, with evidence that adoption persisted beyond the initial rollout.
  • Expertise in how a marketing organization operates end to end across demand generation, campaign operations, content production, field and events, brand, and analytics
  • Strong understanding of full-funnel marketing measurement and how marketing investment connects to pipeline and revenue, ideally in a consumption or usage-based business model.
  • Familiarity with the enterprise marketing stack including marketing automation, CRM, CDP, orchestration, and BI, and with modern agent frameworks and MCP-based integrations.
