How You Will Achieve More With Intellia:

The Director of Marketing Operations & Training is a critical member of the commercial operations team responsible for establishing and leading the operational design and execution of key foundational capabilities focused on enabling effective and compliant promotional brand and field initiatives. Reporting to the VP of Commercial Operations, this role will be tasked with defining, building and executing the necessary marketing and field training activities related to launch readiness, operational processes and tactics, while ensuring the scalability of processes and technologies are in place for future commercial growth.

The Director of Marketing Operations and Training will play a critical role in the launch and success of Intellia’s commercial organization by implementing best practice standards, methodologies, technologies, and processes in a fit-for-purpose manner to support the commercial organization. Specifically, this role will be tasked with leading the creation and execution of multiple operational programs including the promotional material review process, speaker program operations, material fulfillment, learning strategy and delivery of a comprehensive field training program.

Additionally, the incumbent will need to work cross-functionally within a matrix environment comprised of internal and external stakeholders to achieve organizational, commercial and operational excellence aligned to the organization’s goals. The Director of Marketing Operations and Training will need to function as a leader and executer, as Intellia continues to build and grow their commercial organization.

Responsibilities:

Marketing Operations

  • Collaborate with key cross-functional partners to gain alignment and lead core marketing operations capabilities, processes and associated technology platforms in support of business priorities
  • Partner across commercial, IT, legal, regulatory and medical to lead the implementation and on-going management of the promotional review process and system, ensuring the development of a fit-for-purpose effective material review “SOP” within all regulatory and compliance guidelines
  • Partner with sales, training and marketing to lead the planning and execution of large-scale internal meeting and events (ie. Launch/National Sales Meeting and POAs)

Field Training

  • Establish and drive the strategic direction and vision of field training - in alignment with both commercial and corporate short- and long-term priorities
  • Partner cross-functionally to lead the development, delivery and evolution of a comprehensive learning strategy, curriculum and field training programs including the development of an impactful launch training plan and associated field training materials
  • Ensure training strategy, curriculum and content is adaptable to respond to changing business needs and/or market events
  • Lead the identification, development and implementation of a fit for purpose customer engagement selling framework
  • Effectively leverage various training methodologies, approaches and technologies to ensure the field is armed with the appropriate knowledge and skills to sell in a competitive environment
  • Collaborate with sales leadership to develop and deliver first line sales manager training and coaching framework
  • Serve as the primary training lead and thought partner, focused on foundational and enhanced selling skills, business acumen, ongoing pull through and coaching by leveraging adult learning principals and innovative learning solutions
  • Leverage and analyze data to measure training effectiveness and identify areas of opportunity including partnership with sales and operations/analytics teams to enhance business acumen
  • Partner with legal and compliance to develop the appropriate field certification and attestation processes/”SOPs”
  • Provide training leadership for POA and National Sales Meeting planning and execution
  • Responsible for managing the submission and approval process of all field training content through Commercial, Medical, Legal, and Regulatory (CMLR)
  • Partner with IT and HR to identify and establish the appropriate learning platforms to successfully and compliantly deliver and track digital training content
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to identity, develop and deliver the necessary training and support to internal and external users of marketing operations platforms and processes focused on ensuring proficiency and maximizing utilization (ie. CMRL)
  • Develop and manage marketing material lifecycle operations, processes and “SOPs” including warehousing, fulfillment, ordering and inventory management
  • Develop and manage the operational approach to speaker program management and procedure, in partnership with marketing, medical, regulatory and legal - evaluate vendors as needed
  • Contribute to innovation, share best practices, and identify areas for continuous improvement and operational efficiencies
  • Work closely with cross-functional commercialization team to plan for future product launches ensuring scalable solutions and processes are in place allowing for seamless and rapid execution upon approval 

About You:

  • Results-driven self-starter with a strong sense of accountability, performance orientation, and the ability to collaborate effectively across functional teams
  • Ability to Serve as a strategic thought-partner throughout commercial in addition to other cross-functional leadership
  • Proven track record of successfully partnering cross functionally to build and lead the establishment of a new function and organizational capabilities
  • Lead a hybrid internal/external team focusing on skill development and personal coaching
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 10 years of commercial biopharmaceutical industry experience
  •  5+ years experience in marketing, operations, field sales and/or field training,
  • Prior experience with promotional review technologies and platforms required
  • Experience in partnering cross functionally to develop SOPs, guidelines, and policies
  • Prior experience leading promotional material review process required
  • Prior US launch experience is required
  • Proven track record of successfully partnering cross functionally to build and lead the establishment of a new function and organizational capabilities
  • Management and oversight of functional budget and resourcing
  • Organized and logical with a high degree of flexibility and adaptability
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial and collaborative environment with strong interpersonal skills and ability to work positively with others
  • Self-starter with exceptional organizational skills, able to prioritize workload and maintain high attention to detail
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proven ability to act promptly, demonstrate initiative, creativity, and ability to work effectively in complex, rapidly changing environments
  • Ability to lead and facilitate productive and efficient meetings
  • Demonstrated ability to manage processes/workflows, implement process improvements and solve problems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
