Director of Marketing Analytics
Location: Remote, USA
Reports To: VP, Marketing Operations

Job Summary:
Lantern is seeking a strategic, data-driven Director of Marketing Analytics to lead and scale our analytics team and identify key trends and opportunities that will help member, growth and product marketing leaders beat their goals. This role will be responsible for overseeing the measurement and optimization of marketing campaigns, building and monitoring dashboards to hold marketing teams accountable, developing robust attribution models to inform investment decisions and implementing an A/B testing function. You will lead a team of talented analysts and collaborate cross-functionally to drive marketing performance and business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing marketing analytics team.
  • Foster a culture of data curiosity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Set clear team goals and performance metrics aligned with business objectives.
  • Act as a key advisor to the CMO and executive leadership, translating analytics into strategic decisions.

Campaign Measurement & Optimization

  • Design and implement frameworks to measure the effectiveness of multi-channel marketing campaigns (paid, owned, earned).
  • Evaluate performance across the entire funnel and recommend improvements. 
  • Implement and lead a testing process to continuously improve campaigns.
  • Partner with marketing teams to provide actionable insights and optimize campaigns in-flight and post-campaign.
  • Develops and maintains dashboards and reporting to track and analyze key business metrics, providing actionable insights.
  • Investigates unexpected fluctuations in business metrics, generating explanations and data-driven recommendations to present to executives.
  • Conducts regular analyses of data across key user cohorts and demographics, pinpointing the sources of anomalies and trends.
  • Leverages external data sources to assess whether external factors are contributing to observed anomalies and business fluctuations. 

Attribution & Modeling

  • Own the development and refinement of attribution models (e.g., multi-touch, last-click, media mix modeling) to measure ROI across marketing channels.
  • Work closely with data engineering and science teams to ensure models are scalable and accurate.
  • Communicate insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders clearly and effectively.

Budget Management & Forecasting

  • Support marketing leadership in budget planning and allocation based on data-driven performance insights.
  • Build models to forecast and measure campaign performance, customer acquisition costs and ROI across inbound and outbound channels, including paid, events, email, digital and direct mail.
  • Monitor spend against budget, flag variances and recommend reallocation strategies.
  • Partner with Finance, Commercial Ops, Call Center Operations, Product, and Data teams to align on business goals and ensure consistency in reporting.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Marketing, Statistics, Business Analytics, Economics or a related field.
  • 8–10+ years of experience in marketing analytics, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience managing teams and delivering measurable impact through analytics.
  • Deep expertise in marketing measurement, attribution modeling and campaign optimization.
  • Strong command of analytics tools and platforms (e.g., SQL, Excel, Tableau/Looker, Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics).
  • Experience with data modeling, forecasting and budget planning.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with experimentation frameworks (A/B testing, incrementality testing).
  • Background in healthcare, SaaS, or performance marketing environments.
  • Familiarity with tools like R, Python, or other statistical modeling software.
