This includes strategic planning which supports growth plans as well as operational oversight to ensure efficiency, safety, and security. Key initiatives include start-up of new manufacturing facilities with associated infrastructure (MES, integration of process tools and test systems, integration with Nokia ERP systems, etc.).  This role will drive the risk management lifecycle from identification and assessment through mitigation, monitoring, and communication. 

Responsible for developing and leading a team as well as educating peers and business partners on OT best practices, technologies, and on new and emerging threats. Must be able to demonstrate strong communication skills, both written and verbally.

Occasional after hours and weekend work. On site in the San Jose or Sunnyvale area preferred.
 

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a strategic plan that serves as a foundation for rapidly increasing production goals.

  • Lead Manufacturing support teams at two locations including rapid start-up of new facilities. 

  • Support project teams driving automation to deliver increasing scale and cost reduction.

  • Support ongoing operations by ensuring uptime and driving continuous improvement.

  • Manage and improve OT operations in support of product manufacturing targets.

  • Own reliability and uptime of manufacturing-critical infrastructure supporting 24/7 operations
  • Lead capacity planning and continuous improvement initiatives, applying data-driven analysis to strengthen performance across the infrastructure environment.
  • Manage MES integrations with ERP, test systems, automation equipment, and data platforms
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements and alignment with industry best practices.

  • Lead and coordinate teams in the design, implementation, configuration, and management of OT tools and solutions.

  • Develop and implement processes that balance the security, life safety, and operational needs.

  • Identify and implement solutions to automate repeatable and reliable OT operational and tasks.

  • Contribute to, document, and maintain clear communications for OT standards

  • Conduct OT risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies

  • Work with the business continuity team and IT to ensure that continuity of operations is planned for, documented, and tested.

  • Drive ongoing maintenance and process improvements of compliance programs

  • Understand, interpret, and comply with all organizational security policies, procedures, and other governance as provided by Nokia management and authorized stakeholders.

  • Support audits, compliance, and documentation requirements where applicable
Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in computer science or equivalent discipline  required. Master’s degree preferred.

  • 5+ years in a manufacturing environment.  Experience in semiconductor manufacturing preferred.

  • 5+ years of experience in OT environments required

  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership role

  • Familiarity with MES systems, factory operations, and integration with ERP systems

  • Conversant with cybersecurity frameworks such as IEC ISA 99/62443, NIST SP 800-82, NIST 800-53, NIST CSF, and ISO 27001

  • Certified Automation Professional (CAP), Certified Control Systems Technician (CCTS), Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional (GICSP), ISO 27001 Auditor, or other ICS-related certification preferred

 

Skills, Abilities and Competencies

 

  • Expertise in Manufacturing Execution Systems, reporting, and data analysis

  • Expertise in OT / ICS systems (SCADA, DCS, PLC, EMS, etc.)

  • Expertise in OT risk assessment and vulnerability management

  • Manufacturing-first mindset 

  • Familiarity with security operations center operations, security event management, and incident response

  • Strong analytical and reasoning skills, particularly in solving large, complex problems

  • Leadership experience including complex projects and cross-functional initiatives

  • Constantly curious and dedicated to expanding knowledge and experience

  • Ability to assume high levels of responsibility and leadership with staff and peers

  • Ability to function as a member of the Manufacturing team, and to work collaboratively with multiple teams across global locations

  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong customer service skills

  • Strong organizational skills
