Position Summary 

Constellation Software Inc. (TSX: CSU) is a global acquirer and long-term owner of vertical market software businesses, with a decentralized operating model and a strong track record of supporting mission-critical software companies across diverse industries and geographies. The Andromeda Group is one of CSI’s operating groups, focused on acquiring, managing, and growing software businesses within its portfolio.

The Andromeda Group is looking for a Director of M&A, MENA, to support the Boson Portfolio in building and executing its regional expansion strategy across the MENA region. This role will report to the Vice President, M&A, while working closely with the Managing Director of the Boson Portfolio, the Andromeda head office team, and senior leadership on strategic reporting, market development, and acquisition pipeline execution.


Location: Based in the MENA region, ideally Turkey, the UAE or KSA, the role will remain remote until a regional acquisition is completed or a local office is established. The candidate should be comfortable with frequent coordination with the Pakistan-based team and periodic travel to Pakistan.


Language: Fluency in English & the relevant local language is required, depending on the candidate’s country of residence & covered region (for Arabic-speaking markets, Arabic is required; for Turkey, Turkish is required)


Travel requirement: The role will require regular travel within the candidate’s country of residence and across the MENA region for sourcing, relationship development, and market expansion activities. Some travel to Pakistan, Canada, and the US might also be required.


Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will help support with the sourcing, diligence and integrations of new acquisitions in the MENA region. Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Regional M&A Strategy: create and execute plan to build our MENA M&A sourcing strategy including identifying priority markets, target verticals, ecosystem stakeholders, and the infrastructure required to scale M&A in the region over time.
  • Sourcing & Lead Generation: work closely with MD, VP M&A and colleagues to identify and build long-term relationships with owners and operators of vertical market software businesses in MENA, with the goal of eventually providing a permanent home for these businesses when they come up for sale.  Sourcing activities will also include building relationships with the banker and venture capital community in MENA, and corporate development professionals at large parent companies.
  • Market & Vertical Research: Conduct in-depth market research across priority MENA countries and selected verticals, including vertical market mapping, competitive landscapes, software category analysis, founder/company research, and identification of market leaders, emerging players, and potential acquisition targets.
  • Pipeline Management, Reporting & Dashboards: Maintain accurate tracking of sourcing activity, outreach progress, target qualification, relationship status, and deal pipeline movement. Prepare regular reports, dashboards, and strategic updates for the leadership team.
  • Execution: The individual will gain some exposure to the entire software company acquisition cycle, from opportunity evaluation to financial modelling, and due diligence. 
  • Integration: The role may potentially include some work with the MD, VP M&A & cross-functional teams, to integrate newly acquired businesses and create value by sharing and executing CSI best practices. 
  • Other tasks and projects as and when assigned. The candidate should be comfortable operating in a hands-on, build-from-scratch environment, including taking on operational work as needed until a regional team and supporting infrastructure are established.
  • This role requires someone comfortable with shifting priorities and the need to adjust per the exigencies of the portfolio.

Education, Skills, Experience & Mindset:

  • 8–10+ years of relevant experience with ideally at least five years at a tier one management consulting firm, private equity, principal investment shop, or investment bank analyst program.
  • Prior experience in a business development or market-facing role, with demonstrated ability to generate leads, build relationships, and maintain a long-term pipeline.
  • Strong existing industry network in the MENA region, including relationships with founders, business owners, executives, advisors, investors, or other relevant ecosystem stakeholders.
  • Good understanding of the MENA business and technology landscape, with the ability to identify relevant markets, verticals, and acquisition opportunities.
  • Academic performance with an Undergraduate Degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field (PMP, MBA, CA, CPA, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent qualification considered an asset but not required).
  • Ability to establish credibility with senior business leaders.
  • Proven research, analytical, market mapping and competitive mapping skills.
  • This role requires someone comfortable with shifting priorities and the need to adjust per the exigencies of the portfolio.
  • Able to work independently and seek out guidance and learning/development opportunities from colleagues.
  • Experience with CRM tools, pipeline tracking, dashboards, and reporting is considered an asset.
  • Financial analysis, modelling, diligence, or transaction execution experience is considered an asset but not required.
