As Director of International Communications, you will lead strategic communications across Assurant’s global markets. This high-impact role is a key member of the Global Communications leadership team, responsible for strengthening our international presence, engaging our diverse global workforce, and ensuring consistent, aligned messaging that supports enterprise priorities.
Reporting to the Vice President of Global Communications, you will collaborate closely with senior leaders and regional business and marketing partners to drive a unified communications strategy that enhances brand awareness and reputation, supports business growth, and fosters employee connection across all regions.

What will be my responsibilities in this role?
Lead a global team to create and implement an international communications strategy aligned with enterprise goals and regional business needs.
Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leaders on messaging, positioning, and reputation management across global markets.
Lead internal communications to strengthen employee engagement, cultural alignment, and awareness of enterprise initiatives.
Standardize internal communications processes, tools, and editorial planning across regions.
Oversee international media relations, thought leadership, and reputation-building efforts in partnership with regional and global teams.
Ensure consistent message frameworks across external channels and geographies.
Partner with international business leaders to assess and determine communications needs and deliver tailored support.
Strengthen integration with centralized communications platforms and partners to drive efficiency and consistency.
Further establish, benchmark, and track KPIs to measure communications effectiveness and inform continuous improvement.
Collaborate closely with International Marketing and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and integration of messaging and campaigns.
Foster a collaborative, high-performing communications culture across global teams.
What are the requirements needed for this position?
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field.
A minimum of 10 years of Communications experience, with a focus on international and/or global markets.
Proven experience leading cross-regional communications strategies and teams.
Strong business acumen and sound judgment.
Experience advising senior executives on high-profile initiatives.

Ability to leverage product/service innovation and thought leadership to enhance brand reputation and support business growth.
Strong business acumen, sound judgment, and a reputation for integrity.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with sensitivity to cultural nuance.
Skilled in distilling complex information into clear, compelling narratives.
Experience managing internal and external communications, including media relations and executive communications.
Strong project management and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.
Collaborative, relationship-driven communicator with a global mindset who works effectively across a highly matrixed organization to deliver solutions.
Technically adept across communications platforms and tools.
How much should I expect to travel?
Up to 15% of annual travel

Pay Range:
$119,600.00 - $199,800.00Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
