Job Description

The Opportunity:

We, at Flywire, are looking for an experienced Director ideally with a background in FinTech. Primarily you will oversee and drive the engineering strategy for our Sales organization, ensuring alignment with the company's overall business objectives. This leader will be responsible for leading the engineering team, driving strategy, fostering innovation, and ensuring that engineering initiatives contribute to the company's growth and success. The role demands a deep understanding of engineering principles, business acumen, and the ability to lead and inspire a diverse team of engineering professionals.  

Acting as a bridge between technical team and stakeholders, this role ensures that our GTM systems are seamlessly integrated, secure, and aligned with evolving business needs.  You will be partnering closely with cross-functional leaders to provide technical expertise, and lead system enhancements, The ideal candidate has broad and deep technical knowledge of Salesforce, including AgentForce. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Define and execute 1-3 year roadmap, global strategy, and architecture to align with and enable the company's long-term business goals, scalability, and international expansion. Ensure the engineering function supports the company's mission and enhances its competitive edge, while continuing to drive delivery excellence, platform optimization, operational execution, ensuring strong alignment with enterprise architecture and technology principals.
  • Executive Partnership: Serve as the primary Go-To-Market System  liaison, for  the executive team and business leaders, advising on technology investments, risks, and opportunities to drive competitive advantage.
  • Operational Management: Oversee day-to-day operations of engineering teams, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.  Ensuring the organization operates within budget., while advising on new investments.
  • Governance and Compliance:  Partnering to ensure we are meeting regulatory and compliance standards, such as SOX, while maintaining secure and stable technology solutions. 
  • Innovation & Development: Establish a culture of continuous improvement by actively evaluating new features and emerging technologies to enhance business efficiency.  Drive innovation in engineering processes, methodologies, and technologies to enhance product development and operational efficiency.  Drive continuous improvement through innovating engineering practices, processes, methodologies, and technologies to enhance product development, platform performance, delivery capabilities and operational efficiency.
  • Resource Allocation: Manage and allocate engineering resources efficiently to maximize productivity and meet business needs.
  • Technology Transformation: Champion and drive major, complex transformation initiatives  from concept to successful, high-quality deployment.  Implement processes and procedures to meet continuous improvement goals to ensure scale, leveraging automation and advancing emerging technologies.
  • Team Development: Manage and coach direct reports, ensuring robust talent development, succession planning and alignment of department goals with organizational OKRs; fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Ambitious Innovation: Establish a culture of innovation and continuous improvement of both process and technology, actively evaluating and piloting emerging technologies (AI/ML, Agentforce, advance automation) to enhance business efficiency, drive digital transformation, improve processes and maintain a competitive edge.  
  • Performance Management: Set performance expectations, conduct regular performance reviews, and implement strategies for improvement where needed.

Qualifications

Here's what we're looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Finance, HR, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of experience leading Engineering teams in developing innovative technical solutions.  
  • 10+ years of diversified leadership, planning, communication, organization and people motivation skills.  Able to establish effective working relationships with various levels in the organization and has the influence to drive team players to action and commitment.
  • Strong understanding of modern engineering practices and methodologies, such as Agile, DevOps, or Lean, with experience implementing these practices.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical requirements into business-friendly language for various levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex technical challenges and develop innovative solutions.
  • A solid track record of managing complex environments, including business process configuration, security, reporting and managing bidirectional data handshakes and resolving ownership conflicts in complex Environments.
  • Data-driven decision-maker with extensive experience in automation and a deep understanding of the interactions between people, processes, and systems.
  • Excellent organizational skills and experience working in Agile environments, with the ability to pivot quickly when business strategies change.
  • Experience in Fast-paced agile environment.
  • Strong problem solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Salesforce Platforms including CPQ
  • Experienced with implementation that spans multiple countries
  • Experience with FinTech

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $180,000 - $210,000 plus bonus, and benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, position level, and location. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and several other factors, including job-related skills, experience, relevant education and training.
