We are seeking an experienced Financial Crime Compliance leader to serve as the senior Financial Crime representative for Manulife's United States businesses.
In this role, you will oversee Financial Crime Compliance risks and regulatory obligations across a diverse portfolio of businesses spanning Insurance, Wealth, and Asset Management. You will serve as a trusted advisor to senior business leaders, represent the organization in regulatory and industry engagements, and play a key role in advancing our Financial Crime modernization journey.
This is a highly visible leadership role that offers the opportunity to influence strategy, strengthen regulatory relationships, and help shape the future of Financial Crime risk management within a global financial services organization.

Position Responsibilities:

•    Provide oversight of Financial Crime Compliance risks, regulatory obligations, and governance activities across Manulife's US businesses.
•    Serve as a trusted advisor to business and functional leaders on AML, sanctions, fraud, anti-bribery and corruption, and broader Financial Crime matters.
•    Maintain a consolidated view of Financial Crime risks, priorities, regulatory developments, and program effectiveness across Insurance, Wealth, and Asset Management businesses.
•    Lead engagement with regulators and support regulatory examinations, inquiries, and remediation activities.
•    Partner with global Financial Crime, Compliance, Risk, Technology, and business leaders to support implementation of Financial Crime modernization initiatives.
•    Represent US business and regulatory requirements in strategic change programs and support adoption of new capabilities, processes, and technologies.
•    Develop and maintain strong relationships with industry associations, regulatory bodies, and external stakeholders.
•    Prepare and present Financial Crime risk and program updates to senior management and governance committees.

Required Qualifications:

•    Significant Financial Crime Compliance leadership experience within a large insurance or diversified financial services organization, with the ability to oversee Financial Crime risks across multiple business models, including insurance, wealth, and asset management.
•    Deep expertise in AML, sanctions, fraud, anti-bribery and corruption, and broader Financial Crime Compliance requirements.
•    Experience engaging with regulators, senior executives, and governance committees in a highly regulated environment.
•    Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to build credibility and drive outcomes across diverse groups.
•    Experience supporting business transformation, regulatory change, or large-scale compliance initiatives.
•    Strong communication and presentation skills, including experience preparing executive-level reporting.
•    Professional certifications such as CAMS, CFCS, CGSS, CFE, ICA, or similar are considered an asset.

Preferred Qualifications: 

•    Strong understanding of Financial Crime risks within the insurance sector.
•    Ability to balance strategic thinking with practical execution.
•    Proven track record of building trusted relationships with regulators, business leaders, and industry stakeholders.
•    Experience operating across complex organizational structures and multiple lines of business.
•    Passion for innovation, modernization, and continuous improvement.

Salary range is expected to be between

$128,550.00 USD - $222,820.00 USD

Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
