Director of Finance

Position Summary:

  • 100% on-site in Chelsea, MA

Catalent, Inc. is a leading global Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO), and the Boston-area facility is Catalent’s global Center of Excellence for spray dry dispersion and Dry Powder Inhaler (DPI) capsule manufacture and packaging. The site features inhaled powder spray drying, as well as multiple commercial-scale lines for capsule filling and blister packaging. On-site spray dryers include best-in-class GEA Niro SD1, SD4 and SD7, the latter being the largest CGMP unit of its kind for DPI in North America.

Catalent Pharma Solutions in Chelsea, MA is hiring a Finance Director who is responsible for overseeing the entire finance function of the assigned facility. Responsibilities include timely and accurate financial reporting, adherence to corporate policies and procedures and continuous people development of the local finance team.

The Role:

  • Timely and accurate reporting of the facility financials on a monthly basis. In addition, the position will work with the site leadership team, particularly the general manager, to re-forecast the business performance to deliver a reliable monthly forecast.
  • Maintain the effectiveness of financial controls from a corporate governance. The position will be expected to learn and gain a deep understanding of Catalent accounting policies to ensure both P&L and Balance Sheet are accurately reflected at any point in time
  • Directs and manages the accounting function, develops talent within the function and sets challenging goals
  • Working across all functions leads the local budgeting cycle. This includes revenue and cost budgeting at a customer or account level
  • Compare performance with operating budgets, prior forecast and prior year. Provides reports and interprets the results of operations to all levels of management. This includes the preparation of financial statements and operating data, the coordination of systems and procedures and special reports as required.
  • Works for VP Finance to build 5-year strategic plan, coordinates and supports the execution at the facility
  • Assures protection for the assets of the business through internal control, internal auditing, and ensuring proper insurance coverage.
  • Working with business development assistance in establishing and maintaining product pricing, specifically providing guidance to recommend pricing that ensures the maximum margin potential for Catalent
  • Other duties as assigned.

The Candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree Finance or Accounting required. MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years’ experience in Financial Analysis or Market Research within Pharmaceutical Industry required.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment is required, preferably for a pharmaceutical manufacturer.
  • HFM –Oracle Hyperion Finance Management experience desired.
  • International experience or exposure preferred.
  • Demonstrable leadership experience at Catalent (including but not limited to participation in Catalent-sponsored leadership programs such as NGGL, GOLD, LEAD Now, GM Excellence, and GROW) may be considered in place of external experience;  

Pay

The anticipated salary range for this position in Massachusetts is $183,800-250,000 plus an annual bonus target. The final salary offered to a successful candidate may vary, and will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to: the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, skillset, education, business needs, etc. Catalent is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
