This Director of Finance Technology position represents Finance and other business partners acting as a liaison between Business and IT, external application vendors, and business/systems integrators to stand up, support, and later manage a basket of financial systems that could include any or all of Oracle ERP, Oracle and Snowflake reporting Oracle Fixed Assets, Oracle Project Accounting, independent Tax Aggregation tool, Treasury Workstation tool, and potential other applications as the business grows. The Director could take ownership of application management as work is currently in various stages from initial design through to final implementation. In this role, having financial and system background is ideal, particularly experience with Oracle SaaS financial applications. Supervisor and leadership experience is required for this position.
Project Management Required Skills: 20%
- Develop project plan to meet business deadlines and clearly articulate milestone-based deliverables and owners for each task.
- Schedule and drive project status meeting on an ongoing periodic schedule.
- Gather project status from team members and compile weekly status report.
- Identify issues / risks early on and develop mitigating strategies.
- Escalate project risks to leadership.
- Develop and manage project staffing and financial budgets.
- Review and approve deliverables.
- Provide guidance to project team.
- Identify project schedule risks early on and develop strategies to bring the project back on schedule.
- Strong verbal and written communications.
Financial Systems Application Management and Oversight Skills: 80%
- Hands on experience with Finance ERP implementation (GL, AP, AR, FA, and Project Accounting, etc.).
- Ability to drive workshops with business to gather business requirements.
- Assess business requirements and advise business on best business practices.
- Experience with extended end-to-end architecture solution and data flow.
- Ability to identify gaps and present solution options with pros and cons for critical gaps / issues and make recommendations.
- Strong accounting background to provide finance and accounting coverage for IT projects such as AR, Billing, Project Accounting, Indirect Procurement, SC, Inv Mgmt. etc.
- Work with technology team and SI to drive the solution to meet the business requirements.
- Develop overall implementation baseline plans and provide clear direction to technical team for solution development and testing cycles.
- Track the progress against the baseline plans and escalate issues to program leadership.
- Experience managing team of technical resources.
- Strong problem-solving skills to identify current issues / problems and develop practical solutions.
- Experience with root cause analysis leading to changes in configuration, data issues corrections, process optimization, and integration error correction procedures.
- Experience writing functional specifications for integration.
- Document business scenarios and test scripts and support CRP, SIT, and UAT testing cycles.
- Direct and lead other contractors or DIRECTV direct employees.
Principal Responsibilities:
- 50% Manage/support/lead the business for DIRECTV Applications that include Oracle EPM, Oracle Fixed Assets, Oracle Project, Oracle Accounts Payable, Accounting and Oracle Procurement.
- 20% Project Management for various projects that come up either within or outside of the Oracle financial framework in support of Finance and related Operational teams.
- 30% Leadership, staff management that would include coaching, developing, and leading employees, and guiding and supporting contractors/3rd party vendors.

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
