Role Overview
The Head of Executive Compensation will report to the Head of Total Rewards, and lead a team of seven Compensation professionals. The Head of Executive Compensation and Compensation Operations is responsible for the enterprise-wide executive compensation and compensation operations functions. Executive compensation responsibilities include providing leadership, direction, and functional expertise for Chewy’s senior level employee compensation programs including cash and equity based elements with the ability to design competitive plans and programs. The role will also be responsible for development and preparation of all required disclosures and materials for the Compensation Committee of the Board of Directors. Compensation operations responsibilities include leadership and direction of all aspects of compensation operations inclusive of the compensation administrations processes, data analytics, and reporting. Collaborating across all areas of the organization, this role is a key HR leadership role that will be responsible for compensation philosophy, strategy, and operational processes.
What you'll do
- Works closely with the Head of Total Rewards, Chief People Officer, and Chief Counsel to develop and prepare materials including agenda, analysis, reports, and presentations, for the Compensation Committee of the Board of Directors.
- Lead proxy data analysis and disclosures, ensuring all requirements are met.
- Work closely with the broader HR and Leadership teams to develop and implement a strategy that delivers a competitive mix of cash and equity elements of total compensation.
- Effectively communicate and provide education and training material to support compensation programs and processes.
- Review the design of the organization’s short-term incentive bonus and long-term incentive equity plans and ensure they are fit for purpose and market competitive.
- Provide consultation and recommendations on executive compensation for all Directors and above organization wide and evaluate all market data for executive positions.
- Compensation lead for the overall cyclical compensation review processes, systems, and reporting.
- Lead the compensation reporting and analysis function to drive quality, data integrity, auditing, and accuracy for compensation programs and decisions.
- Plan administrator for Chewy’s equity plan including managing the third party vendor relationship and all plan communications. Manage the processes and act as the subject matter expert to ensure effective coordination of all activities between payroll, HRIS, accounting, treasury, legal and the vendor for all grant and vesting events.

What you'll need:
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in HR, Finance, Accounting, or related discipline.
- Master’s degree and/or compensation certification a plus.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in compensation, with at least 7 years in executive compensation, and 3 years in managerial roles.
- Demonstrated strong communication and influencing skills evidenced through experience partnering with senior level executives across HR, Finance, Legal, and the C-suite to implement new plans and/or changes to existing plans.
