What's the role?
As the Director of Employee Events + Experiences at Bilt, you'll design and deliver high-impact, high-vibe experiences that bring Bilt's culture to life - not just through events, but through thoughtfully crafted perks, programs, and moments that make working at Bilt feel like being part of something rare and intentionally built. From 500-person celebrations that feel more like brand activations to intimate, one-off experiences with real storytelling power, you'll know how to create a moment - one that connects, surprises, and resonates.
Think: anniversary perks powered by our travel rewards network, immersive offsites, surprise-and-delight cultural drops, and unforgettable milestone touchpoints.
We are specifically looking for candidates with a background in brand, events, membership clubs, hospitality, or lifestyle - not traditional HR or People functions.
Why this role?
At Bilt, we believe the best ideas, and the best work, happen when people feel energized, seen, and celebrated. You'll get white space to help build an employee experience that reflects the ambition, creativity, and culture of our team - and the opportunity to shape a new standard for how company culture shows up in the real world.
In this role, you will...
  • Own all employee event programming - from quarterly onboarding events to our one-of-a-kind holiday party, ensuring each one feels like a Bilt signature.
  • Curate and support bespoke company and pod-based experiences, leveraging our network of dining, comedy, and lifestyle partners.
  • Partner to run our employee cultural experience, including:
    • Milestone and anniversary programs with white-glove execution
    • Physical and digital symbols of recognition
    • Oversee and execute on our Employee Only Bilt Status and offerings
    • Swag design and drop cadence
  • Infuse partnership thinking into every experience - pulling in our Bilt partners where possible to create real-world magic.
  • Create a membership-worthy employee experience and track the ROI of that
  • Serve as a visible cultural beacon in the NYC office, keeping a pulse on what energizes employees and continuously evolving programming to match.

In terms of qualifications, we're seeking...
  • 5+ years of experience curating elevated experiences, events, membership clubs, or brand activations - ideally across both large-scale and high-touch environments.
  • Proven ability to build brand affinity and loyalty through in-person experiences - getting people bought in through storytelling, space, and hospitality.
  • Experience building or managing exclusive member communities or loyalty programs, with a deep understanding of how to create compelling, differentiated offerings that drive engagement.
  • A data-informed mindset - you're able to set clear goals for events and programs, evaluate performance, and articulate impact through engagement.
  • A portfolio of memorable, high-quality work that showcases taste, originality, and the ability to build for a discerning audience.
  • Experience working with or alongside standout brands in hospitality, fashion, media, or luxury lifestyle.
  • Deep knowledge of what's cool - you stay tapped into culture and know how to translate trends into unforgettable moments.
  • A builder's mindset with a hospitality instinct - you're comfortable creating scalability but never lose sight of how something feels.
  • Interest in growing into a people and culture leadership role, even if that hasn't been your formal path to date.
  • Passion about Bilt and what we're creating - you're probably already a member of our program and you understand why we exist. You already have ideas about where we could be leveraging our partners in a unique way.

At Bilt Rewards, we believe in transparency and we do our best to make sure the company and our candidates are on the same page as it relates to compensation. In addition to posting salary ranges for our open roles, candidates should expect to be asked about compensation expectations and requirements early on in their interview process. Our goal is to highlight when expectations and Bilt's salary range may be out of sync, and work with the candidate to determine whether it makes sense to continue conversations.
We are considering candidates with differing levels of expertise for this position. Leveling will be based upon your experience and performance in the interview process.
Where a new hire falls within a range will be based on their individual skills and experience, and how these competencies compare across other employees in the same role. Bilt's bands are designed to allow for individual compensation growth within the role. As such, new hires typically start at the lower end of the range. Bilt rewards performance and outcomes - should you join the company, you will have the opportunity to grow your salary over time.
The salary range for a Director, Employee Event + Experiences is $130,000 - 165,000 and will be eligible for equity and an annual performance-based bonus.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
