About This Role

The Director, Digital Data & Governance, will lead the strategy, governance, and delivery of digital and customer experience data capabilities across the organization. This role will partner with Commercial, Medical, and Digital teams to harness data from omni-channel engagement, patient services, and healthcare professional (HCP) interactions, translating insights into actionable strategies that enhance user experience, drive business impact, and support innovation in patient and HCP engagement. The Director will establish digital data governance framework, ensure data assets are trusted, compliant and effectively leveraged, and embed data stewardship into the culture of the organization.

What You'll Do

  • Drive digital data transformation initiatives that enhance interoperability, scalability, and usability of data platforms to enable AI/ML and advanced analytics use cases

  • Define and execute data governance strategy to ensure availability, quality, integrity, security, and compliance of enterprise data

  • Establish and lead data stewardship programs, ensuring clear ownership, accountability, and adoption of governance practices across functions

  • Partner with Commercial, brand and medical teams to identify data needs, define standards, and enable fit-for-purpose data solutions

  • Ensure regulatory compliance (e.g., GxP, HIPAA, GDPR) in how data is captured, managed, and used across the enterprise

  • Lead data quality and master data management efforts, implementing robust controls, monitoring, and remediation processes

  • Collaborate with IT and enterprise architecture teams to align data governance frameworks with digital platforms, pipelines, and business applications

  • Influence enterprise data culture, promoting education, adoption, and change management to elevate data literacy across the organization

  • Develop governance metrics and dashboards to track progress, maturity, and business value realization

  • Mentor a team of data governance and stewardship professionals, fostering a high-performance, collaborative culture

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Data Management, Computer Science, or related field; advanced degree (MS, MBA, or PhD) preferred

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in data management, data governance, particularly digital data leadership within the biotech, pharma, or life sciences industry

  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks relevant to pharma/biotech data (e.g., FDA, EMA, GxP, HIPAA, GDPR)

  • Demonstrated experience building and scaling data governance programs and frameworks in a global, matrixed environment

  • Expertise in data platforms, master data management (MDM), metadata management, and modern data architectures (cloud, APIs, AI/ML enablement)

  • Proven track record of influencing senior leadership and driving adoption of governance and digital data practices

  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and change leadership skills

  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage direct reports in a fast-paced, high-growth environment

Additional Information

The base compensation range for this role is: $195,000.00-$269,000.00


Base salary offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.

Regular employees are eligible to receive both short term and long-term incentives, including cash bonus and equity incentive opportunities, designed to reward recent achievements and recognize your future potential based on individual, business unit and company performance.
