About this role

About the team
BlackRock's Americas Client Business ("ACB") manages the firm's relationships with financial services firms, financial advisors, and institutional clients across the U.S., Canada, and Latin America. ACB represents the full suite of BlackRock strategies — ETFs, managed accounts, alternatives, portfolio solutions, outsourced CIO, and sub-advisory mandates — with a mandate to deliver "One BlackRock" to our clients.

The ACB Data & AI Transformation team sits at the center of this effort. Our mission is to advance ACB's AI ambitions by shaping trusted, consumable data and delivering AI-driven solutions that help our partners achieve their commercial objectives. We are organized into two pillars — Product (strategy, prioritization, partnerships) and Engineering (build, deploy, operate) — working together to deliver AI applications and data products that drive measurable impact across sales, marketing, and operations.

Role Summary
This role leads the Data Product Management function within ACB Data & AI Transformation, with responsibility for a team of domain-focused data product managers and product owners. Reporting to the Head of ACB Data & AI Product Strategy, this Director sets the vision, roadmap, and operating standards for how ACB builds and scales data products that power commercial outcomes.

The remit spans multiple data domains — including engagement and interaction data (marketing, digital, CRM, events), coverage and segmentation, asset/trade data, and share-of-wallet/competitor asset data — with focus shifting based on business priority.

Beyond running the team, this leader serves as a senior connector across ACB, partnering with business heads, Engineering, AI, and Relationship Management leaders to align priorities and ensure data products translate into measurable adoption and impact. Success looks like a high-performing team, a coherent multi-domain roadmap, and an increase in how ACB uses data and AI to drive commercial outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership and Talent Development

  • Lead, coach, and grow a team of data product managers and product owners aligned to core ACB data domains
  • Develop talent through ongoing feedback, stretch assignments, and structured career growth — building bench strength for senior product roles
  • Foster a culture of ownership, commercial orientation, and product discipline

Data Product Strategy and Roadmap Ownership

  • Define and own the multi-domain data product strategy and roadmap, aligned to firmwide and business unit priorities
  • Establish prioritization frameworks and governance to make tradeoffs explicit across competing demands
  • Translate business strategy into a coherent portfolio of data products, ensuring the team's roadmaps ladder up to enterprise outcomes
  • Set standards for product definition, requirements quality, and acceptance criteria that Engineering can build against consistently
  • Serve as the senior point of partnership for ACB business leaders across Marketing, Sales Enablement, Distribution, Product, and Operations

AI Enablement Across the Data Portfolio

  • Ensure data products across domains are designed to power downstream AI use cases — including targeting, personalization, insights, and agentic workflows
  • Partner with AI and platform teams to move capabilities from experimentation into production
  • Embed AI fluency into the team's product practice, ensuring data structure, quality, and accessibility decisions are made with AI consumption in mind

What We're Looking For

Background and Experience

  • 10+ years in data product management, analytics, or business intelligence, ideally in financial services or a similarly data-intensive environment
  • 4+ years of people management experience leading 3-5 person teams of data or other product managers/product owners.
  • Experience working across multiple data domains, with familiarity with how data flows across CRM systems, marketing platforms, and analytics infrastructure
  • Experience writing product requirements, managing backlogs, and working in an agile delivery model
  • Ability to work with business and engineering leadership to guide priorities and refine requirements across various data product domains

Skills and Capabilities

  • Strategic product leadership: Sets vision, defines outcomes, and drives a coherent roadmap across multiple domains — rather than managing tasks
  • Senior stakeholder presence: Operates credibly with business heads, Engineering leadership, and senior client-facing partners; able to influence without authority
  • Team builder: Develops product talent, sets a high bar for product craft, and creates an environment where the team can deliver at pace
  • Commercial orientation: Frames data and AI investments in terms of measurable business outcomes — adoption, efficiency, revenue impact
  • Strong data and AI fluency: Sufficient technical depth (SQL, Snowflake, modern data platforms, AI/ML concepts, Azure DevOps/Jira) to engage credibly with engineers and AI partners and make informed tradeoffs
  • Operational discipline: Builds for repeatability — strong instincts around process, documentation, and measurement
